    Floyd Mayweather is retired ...PERiOD!

There is no reason for him to be in the P4P talks because he is retired. If that is the case then why not bring in Oscar and Tito?
Anyone that has him in the P4P rankings is a tool warehouse!

to me only fighters that are active and who have not come out and stated that he is retired should be ranked.

    1. sergio martinez
    2. manny pac
    3. Nonito Donaire

He's been off my P4P list since 2008, but that's just me. He retired officially in my eyes then, when Cotto and Margarito were top dogs.

He came back and fought JMM and a Mosley who was inactive for 16 months. Not enough to be P4P. (Here comes those that say Mosley was P4P #3. We get it, subjective mythical rankings are the end all be all)

Who cares? I never understood why people care so much. Even the haterz have to admit he's a top fighter but nothing matters until he fights. Therefore I dont care if you have him 1st or 2nd or 3rd or not on the list at all. Just judge him when he fights.

Also, the guy talking about him fighting JMM & Mosley. JMM is still JMM. He can move up like anyone else and he's about to do it again soon. Both Floyd & Pac have moved up alot so I wont take alot of credit away from that like others here try to do.

Then the Mosley thing makes no sense. Who cares if he was off for 16 months? He had just trained for a Berto fight in which he did every single thing that he would do for a normal fight but get in the ring and he still is not nowhwere near as inactive as Floyd. I guess your saying that if Floyd comes back and loses to Pac or anyone else then it doesnt count because he's been so inactive

I understand where you are coming from and i do understand that SSM was P4P4P #3 but then he just retires again. no it dont work that way
he needs to stay active and fight if not then he gets booted off the list

True he isnt p4p material as he dont fight he wont lose. You cant be top on the basis of a couple of performances over how many years?

Its like in a recent poll, Floyd would be favoured to beat Pac? Pac will go down as a highter ATG and has the better resume, you might as well say hed be favoured to beat Floyd as well. He has the better resume so why shouldnt he be favoured to beat Floyd by everyone? So are we saying FLoyd is favourite to beat everyone in boxing history even though he hasnt got the resume.?

All boxers are rusty now as none fight often. Fighting once a year or so like SSM did is hardly going to make him not rusty is it?

SSM just isnt that good when FLoyd beat him. SSM seems to have re invented himself with a win over SSM into some ferocios challenger for FLoyd.

Those fights don't make anyone P4P material. JMM is JMM at 135, not at 147 looking like cream filled cookie. Mosley being inactive and overtrained and clearly a shell also does not make someone P4P material. He won them, big deal. Not enough to be ranked P4P in my eyes.

I'm talking about being ranked P4P. If Pac beats Mayweather, it'll be good enough to keep him P4P. Mayweather beats Pac, then he can go back to the top spot. Its a legit win. My view is, Pac, if he doesn't blow out Mosley in 3-4 rounds, then his top spot is in danger as well. And if he selects another no-hoper, then he'll be off the top spot as well.

                    He is pretty much retired.

But the dude does want to fight again, but his legal problems are stopping him, and it may stop him for the rest of his career.
