It's ridiculous considering he just beat a fighter in Berto who probably gets even more shit that Ortiz does.

It was a great fight and awesome performance by Ortiz, but people are jumping the gun.
thats why it's such a big win because everyone doubted him and he was moving up in weight to fight one of the champions and pretty much owned him

It makes me laugh, I have to admit. People overreact to everything. No one ever just gives a fighter proper credit for a win, they either completely overrate the fighter or completely underrate the fighter.

I will say one thing. It is possible ortiz was fighting the wrong weight the whole time.
Doubt he was fighting in the wrong weight the whole time. Probably in his last few fights but not his entire career since he was making weight fine at 140 for most of his career his body was done with 140 and it was time to move on that is for sure.

Dont be bitter. Just enjoy the fact that he put on a show. If you didnt like the fight on Saturday, then youre not a boxing fan. Let Victor prove himself one more time, but dont hate on the guy. He did something none of us "internet warriors" could do to Berto. So STFU!

Yeah, Ortiz isn't a little dude and he looked massive compared to Peterson in his last fight. He's only what, 24? I bet he's fighting at 154 in 2 years or so.

There is doubt, and there is shitting on him.

                Fans were shitting on him.

Doubt is when you are unsure about something. I think many fans were more than sure that Berto would make Ortiz quit after landing some hard shots.

People were calling him an overrated hype job with no heart that got ruined by Maidana.

And now he's a threat to Pac and Floyd.

                That's the definition of overreaction.

Ortiz has actually been on both sides of the coin.
You nailed it, man. It's crazy how many people were writing him off against Berto - and now suddenly, he's ready for Pac/May. He's gone from gutless coward to unstoppable monster.

The truth, as it is most times, is somewhere in between the two extremes.

It was an impressive performance and he deserves some credit. I haven't been reading much in NSB so I can't speak on all the threads you are talking about but it doesn't surprise me. I think it was an impressive performance given how he quit against Maidana and basically gave the last part of the fight away against Peterson. I think he redeemed himself somewhat.

Berto was ripe for the picking though. I'm just surprised that it was Ortiz who did it.

victor is now a ww and also a ww champ so why wouldn't he be mentioned as a opponent for floyd or manny?i don't think it has that much to do with victor but more of people wantin to see manny fight a live opponent and floyd fight period and manny pacquiao is not unbeatanble as you can see by his record
