I am not surprised Mexicans are obsessed with Boxing. I just wish those 25 million watched Morales vs. Maidana and Ortiz vs. Berto.

I don't care for womens boxing but it seems to be popular in other countries.

Did they show the Ortiz vs. Berto fight? I know they showed the Salido vs. Juanma fight but I don't know if that was live.

Great to see boxing come back in Mexico, it was dead for awhile but has made a nice comeback.

They showed the Morales vs Maidana fight and it got a figure of 25 points in rating in Mexico, but i believe the Torres vs Nava fight just draw that record hahaha.

Here is the link of the Morales-Maidana rating

And the Ortiz fight was shown on Cable television, on the channel Space, Ortiz is like the only fighter that is not shown on Free TV here in Mexico who knows why, we even have all the Pavlik fights on free Tv here hahaha.

No they didn't show it, it was on Cable on Space a great channel for boxing in Latin America, they have movies and boxing, they showed the Khan and Ortiz fights.

It's true the Salido-Lopez bout was shown on TV Azteca, the women's bout was shown on Televisa.

And Boxing made a comeback thanks to TV Azteca that brought back boxing in 2006 on Free TV, it was dead in the prime years of Morales and Barrera because of PPV. And the big channels didn't promote it because they didn't have the fights, so the fighters were unkwon by the public.

I think the record they broke was for woman's boxing. Still though 25 million live viewers is HUGE, here in the states the NBA finals got 28 million live and it was a very good number. There are almost 3 times the people here in the US and the NBA is pretty mainstream, goes to show that Boxing is doing phenomenal in Mexico.

How many channels in Mexico carry boxing now? Have you noticed if the mainstream resurgence has resulted in more gyms opening up or more young men taking up the sport?
