Even if Williams got a quick win it wouldn't matter. People don't seem to care that Hatton and Cotto were coming off wins they still say they were coming off losses.

Malignaggi was arguably the best at 140 at the time besides Hatton. Bradley wasn't there yet.

Yeah but it's not like they cant have the fight in Mexico or even some other place. At one point there were talks of Manny fighting in Canada or other places, and seeing how Manny has the name, it isn't a stretch to think it can happen outside the U.S.

FWIW I also think there was a push to have Margarito outside the States, as well as Valero, Guzman and a couple of other bouts IIRC.

I can't see too many serious boxing fans ripping Manny for fighting Williams, whether he's coming off a loss or not. The difference in size is immense and Williams has always looked like a fighter who could gives Manny fits.

Its an unbelievably dangerous fight for Manny, and what is more unbelievable is that ppl would complain about Manny fighting a guy who could be 30-35lbs heavier than him walking around who also is a dangerous puncher with a great chin.
