I love Mike Tyson like my own brother. But Ali would beat that ass. Mike has the style to cause Ali trouble, but is mentally too weak. He may win once or twice out of 10 fight, owing to prime MT's work rate and combo punching, like Ali-Frazier 1, but the vast majority of the time Ali wins a decision or a late stoppage.

Prime Ali couldnt hold of Chuvalo and took a ton of shots.

Everyone knows both have skills, both are amazing.

Both are all time greats.

But the Chuvalo argument needs to be addressed by Ali apologists.

Because if Chuvalo does that to Prime Ali...and we all know what Chuvalo brought to the table and what his limitations were...

Then the fight is 50/50

Because Leron and I work in the same building but in different departments, our occasional meetings are by chance while grabbing coffee, stopping to chat up a lovely friend or heading to a mandated company gathering at the end of a given month.

But regardless of when they occur, the encounters always go the same way.

The discussion topic inevitably turns to boxing and my 30-something colleague immediately begins singing the praises of his generation’s signature heavyweight champion – Mike Tyson.

It happened again last week.

“The guy was a wrecking machine, man. Nobody in the world could stand in there with him at his best,” he chirped. “Did you see what he did to Michael Spinks? The guy was scared to death.”

I nodded politely, tossed in a “Yeah, he sure was” in his general direction every now and then, and indulged my pal his recurring worship.

Until, that is, he went a little too far.

“There’s not a heavyweight champion in history that he wouldn’t have beat.”

I was momentarily stunned.

that was the other version of Ali. The Liston version would humiliate Tyson.

In my view The Clay lost every round of Liston I (except maybe one). He was lucky that Liston deranged his shoulder and retired on his stool.

Tyson has not shown that he can hang againts a fighter of equal stature or not scared of him.

The not-scared argument (and the being KOed by featherfist Evan Fields argument) is actually the BEST argument that AliFants have.

They can be equal physically. but Ali dwarfs him in Mental toughness.

Mental toughness won't help if your chin is porcelain ("muHAMmad's porc chin") like against Henry Cooper.

If a featherfist like Henry Cooper and like Frazier (KOratio in real heavyweight fights worse than Chris Byrd) can floor The Clay then Tyson can do it so much faster.

It's highly unlikely that Tyson would beat the Klitschkos, but it's highly likely that he would beat The Clay.

Please stop comparing Mike Tyson to Frazier. Frazier was tougher than Tyson on so many levels. Ali landing the same punches on Tyson that he landed on Frazier would have made Iron Mike fold up like a lawn chair. Even Tyson knows he was no match for Ali. I think Mike knows better than you all.

FOREMAN had the Style, Chin and BALLS to beat Tyson, U might remember Ali wanted no part of a REMATCH!!!

Yes, The Clay ducked the Foreman rematch because he didn't want to pee blood again. And since in the US they wouldn't allow Dundee to manipulate the ropes like in Africa The Clay chose to fight cans instead of giving Foreman a rematch.

However, Tyson and Foreman had different styles thus I wouldn't deduct anything from the Foreman duck.

We're talking Prime vs Prime right? In that case we're talking Ali that dominated from Sonny Liston all the way to Zora Folley to the Tyson that beat Berbick and Holmes etc....

Closer fight than people will credit, but I give it to Ali. Ali's hand and foot speed, as well as his ring IQ, I give it to him. Lets not forget Tyson couldn't handle the clinching from lesser fighters. But Tyson would get him 1 time in a trilogy.

you are basing this on what? His amateur record? Cus died like 7 months into Tysons pro career, can you even name someone Tyson beat with Cus in his corner? Im a boxing genius and even I cant think of anyone in the top 100 at that time who Tyson beat with Cus in his corner.

This article is ****** anyways. Ali was put on his back by Henry Cooper and Chuck Wepner...the writer says Ali beat up Liston...uhhh when? When they were even on the score cards and Liston hurt his shoulder? Or when Liston took a blatant dive?

And it is really ****** cause Vitali Klitschko dispatches of either of these guys by ko in 7 rounds.

I'm basing it on how focused and determined Cus had Tyson...Cus had his mind on the right track. Not being the brooklyn thug he was. Getting in the ring is only part of it, the preparation, training and having someone there for you that you trust to keep your head on straight is a huge part of a boxers success!

A boxing genius would of known the relationship they had! Good try though

Tyson would've lost before he even got in the ring. The fight game is all about the mind, if you have a good chin and aren't afraid of Tyson then you'll beat him every time. Ask Evander

Tyson was not a great Champion, the closest he got to beating a great champion was a fat Larry Holmes. The guy knocked over tomato cans until he got in with Buster who was just inspired that night. After that he was done.

Lyle is right, Ali wins every time. **** even Lewis does.
