Chavez hit guys more on the thigh then balls.

Cotto also used the move against Judah after that big uppercut, Judah was no saint though he did the same thing to Floyd.

Juanma is going to have to work on avoiding that looping right hand, not get caught up going to war, and going straight for the balls when hurt if he plans on beating Salido in the rematch.

That theory gets shut down when you employ common sense.

Cotto was in more trouble against Margarito, Torres and Pacquaio and NO low blow was needed. In fact, Margarito landed 3-4 low blows on Cotto that fight.

      Stop the nonsense girls.

Chavez hit low in just about every fackin fight.

Chavez did go low a lot nobody is denying that.

Cotto probably didn't hit Pac or Marg low because he was going backwards for most of the fight after tasting that power. Maybe if he went low he could have done better, who knows.

Still though, hitting Salito low or holding would have helped Juanma's cause. Guy needs to learn how to change gears instead of slapping his gloves together after taking huge bombs.

There is no PR fighter like WV2 right now. He`s the only PR hope right now, and I can see him beating Donaire, Salido, Gamboa and Juanma.. Thats how great he is dammit!

shows how truly great a fighter Tito was. It also shows how underrated his chin was. Yes, he got knocked down many times, but rarely, if ever, did you see him actually hurt from those knockdowns. It was as if a knockdown, gave him more power as he went after his opponent with even more ferocity.

I don't see that in rican fighters today. Its like they get hit with a couple of good punches, and they mentally fold and get extra sloppy.

that's why i was such a huge fan of the guy...the moment Tito hit the deck, you knew an ass whoopin was comin

Tito was throwback. You just don't have those type of fighters no more. This generation fighters just aren't hungry like the past generations.

Yeah both Ortiz and Berto fought like 2 bitches this past weekend. Also Juanma showed no balls or heart to get up from that monster right Salido hit him with.

Don't get me wrong I loved those fights(they showed a lot of heart). But how often do we get fights like that.

You watch Concepcion vs. Marquez three weeks ago? How about Morales vs. Maidana?

It's true that for the most part the stardard of living in the US and around the world has gotten a lot better but there are still plenty of boxers that came from nothing now. And back in the day fighters quit too.

Jake Lamotta one of the toughest fighters ever quit on his stool at the end of his career.

Sonny Liston one of the hardest dudes ever in boxing quit against Ali.

Roberto Duran was a beast and he quit during a fight while not even being hurt.

Marcel Cerdan had his fight against Lamotta stopped because he hurt his shoulder and that's the same reason that a lot of fans said Vitali was a quitter.

Chavez quit against DLH and he was the baddest dude around for a long time.

I don't buy into the whole "They just don't make them like they used too" I do agree though that the refs have gotten a lot better in stopping fights, back in the day the refs were blood thirsty.

1: Update your sig. Pac/Shane, Cotto/Quintana, Margarito/Williams, Margarito/Cintron, and Cotto/Judah. Then add Floyd/Judah, and don't forget the *coming off two year layoff with Shane and *coming off a loss against a gatekeeper for Judah.

2: Calderon has been hurt or down many times in recent years and only lost to the guy that's maybe two weight classes larger than the division they fought. Calderon fought his ass off in the first Segura fight. Give him a pardon for being like a 34 year old footwork reliant slickster that's much too small even for the tiny weight class he's at.
