John retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision. Not having any fear of Yordan's power, John stood on the inside and fought it out with Yordan for nearly the entire fight. Yordan's face had swelling around both eyes by the tenth round. It was one of the better performances from John in a long time. He was a lot bigger and appeared to be physically stronger than Yordan, who was very game and continued to trade with the more experienced champion all night. The scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 117-111.

I'm not a fan of John. After Marquez got robbed in Indonesia, don't see him as THAT good. Gamboa and Lopez would school him even in his prime imo.

^Don't get wrong, he IS a good boxer, great jab...doubling the job..good upper body movement...accuracy..good footwork BUT i don't see him as Top 10 P4P GOOD. You could say I just wish besides the Marquez and Juarez fights, he got tested. Gamboa i feel from what i've seen of him has just too much movement. Lopez i feel is also ALL wrong for John considering his size. As awesome as Solido did against Lopez, i feel John would beat him because of his good defense. Overrated is the better word for him imo. Now if he beat Gamboa or any other featherweight elite...i'd give him props and would shut up lol.

lol at people thinking gamboa is some kind of a god. that chinny heartless fool will get beat by a superior boxer/puncher. gamboa is a hilariously awkward KO just waiting to happen.

i cant believe the level of NOOB analysis im seeing here.

I'd love to see Gamboa fight Chris John next. Even if he has to go to Indonesia to do it.

John is a decent fighter but he IS NOT elite. He got a gift decision against JMM and had difficulty getting past Rocky Juarez of all people.
