i mentioned solomon as to prove a point that there are multiple fighters at welterweight (that aren't named mayweather or pac) who in my opinion would give ortiz a hell of a fight.
jones, kelly, & solomon are guys that aren't known but in my opinion would at the very least give ortiz all he could handle. jones would beat ortiz. ortiz would have a punchers chance & nothing more. I always felt that jones would beat berto.......hell, collozo beat berto. I am glad that i don't have to deal with him anymore.
& your last point. this is why i said that solomon would beat ortiz.....foot speed. if you look at the peterson fight you will see that peterson was outboxing ortiz mostly because of his legs.....its a matter of styles. solomon also knows exactly what to do with ortiz on the inside. solomon is extremely fundamentally gifted & darts out & in like a cheater. i think it would look like peterson vs ortiz but at a much worser level for ortiz.......i already knew he was gonna beat berto I was one of the only ones to say it when the fight was being discussed. I knew it....because berto doesn't have any kind of committed game plan. he fights all over the place.......thats how callozo beat him.
my only point was let ortiz fight guys like solomon, jones, kelly, before we all speak of the pacs & mayweathers of the world.
for a jones match, i just see ortiz being able to pressure him to the point where jones can't back up and fight the way and at the pace he wants, ortiz is capable of it, and has power to do some damage.
as for solomon, he's been looking good, but i just don't think he can frustrate ortiz for an entire 12 rounds. peterson did frustrate ortiz, but ortiz dropped him earlier, he backed off of him for some ****** reason and let him get back in the fight. im pretty sure ortiz, this time around, with new found confidence and his belt on the line, i just don't see him making that mistake again....
either way, i know solomon and jones are good fighters ( i did get a bit carried away with my first comment, im just not sold on jones)
but yeah, i agree with you...ortiz is better off defending his belt to natural WWs and getting used to that weight and gaining more experience before trying to cash himself in for a megafight with either manny/floyd.Comment

jones is an interesting match, but the way he fights, i think ortiz can take advantage of that and deff take a decision, if not stop him. it's not overrating ortiz, it's just he showed what he is capable of last night.Comment
