I'll admit, I was surprised that Ortiz looked as sharp as he did after that awesome 6th round. I thought he would tire after applying such crazy pressure the first couple rounds, but he looked strong throughout the whole fight. It also seemed that 147 lbs. was a very natural fit for him. Khan has talked about moving up to 147 possibly after his unification bout with Bradley in July. It looks as if welterweight might be the elite division again if all these junior welters head up, combined with the talent that is already there.

      Ped

Ortiz was def on something!! NO WAY U LOOK LIKE THAT...PED's all the way..hahahhaha

sick fight though...It was a great and exciting fight, i know the back of the had shots helped a little cause my man couldnt walk straight the whole fight......

i dont see any of these guys being a force in their division...No really skill was being applied just straight entertainment...

Foxwoods really comes out with the fights..ward v Gatti started there.

They probably said he had no heart based on the Maidana fight can you blame them for that???? So, what he did last night had nothing to do with what he did in the Maidana fight and lackluster performance against Peterson. Example, people said Buster Douglas had no heart based on what he did before he fought Mike Tyson. Yes Buster had heart that night and got up after that uppercut but what did he do his very next fight? Ortiz looked good but like I said don't get carried away.

Berto looked bad early and wasn't applying Maidana type pressure. I seen Collazo do the same to Berto minus the knockdowns both ways. Yes Victor put Berto down unlike Luiz but Luiz didn't go down and Ortiz did. Ortiz had a good night but he has to string together a streak of three or four good fights to erase the past two years. He's on the right track if I were you I would wait about three more fights before pounding my chest. Your boy might pull a Buster Douglas on you.

For the sake of good fights, I hope you are right and my caution is wrong!

          Victor!!!

Wow! Ortiz beat Berto without throwing jabs or body punching! Relentless headhunting and constant pressure, LOL!!! Now imagine someone like Cotto or Sugar Shane in front of Andre? Pac Man or Floyd jr? LMAO! I think Amir Khan could beat Berto! lol!!!

Ortiz seriously needs to practice jabbing...If he would have went to the body early in the fight mixed in with them bombs he was dropping?! Andre may not have gotten back up.

this was a really great fight. i dont think anyone saw it turning out the way it did. i'd love to see a rematch. ortiz should also rematch maidana at 147, that would be a great war. ortiz earned his stripes, and berto still showed alot of heart goin down the stretch. i gotta admit i was really wrong about ortiz, i've never questioned his heart before, but i didnt think he had it in him to fight with that much intensity for the a full fight. he seemed to take his foot off the gas against peterson.

I totally agree with that. the 1st time I ever saw Ortiz fight was against Maidana, and I saw a guy who had a bad night, nothing more and nothing less. He just got out-willed, **** hit the fan and he wasn't prepared to handle it. That gut check helped him get through Berto and in a satisfying fashion I might add. But, instead of going straight for the top of the mountain, he should defend his title a couple times against formidable foes to work out some of his flaws.

Berto fought like your Typical African-American. Hugging, complaining, running. Ortiz was the real man and chased his black azz all the time. Mexican power !!!

Sabes que, eres un pendejo... How much Mexican power did your boy Ortiz have when he QUIT against Maidana??? Where was Oscar's Mexican power when he QUIT against Pacquiao??? How many times did Mosley hold Vargas when KO'd him in the 6th? Every race has tough guys and not so tough guys... Second, Berto is Hatian-American... Third, some fighters hold too much of every race. Should I say all Mexicans use super-cement wraps because of Margarito??? Did some black guy do your girl or did she leave you for a brother? Did you over hear her talking to her girlfriends about black men in bed and that made you come on here and take your anger out on black boxers??? Whatever happened to you I'm sorry but, it's time to let it go and move on....
