It is about Ortiz and him fighting a great fight, but it's also about Berto being hype and not fighting anybody..If you think Berto's level of opposition had nothing to do with this lost I don't know what to tell ya..

A hype job does not fight blood and guts for 12 rds,in my opinion Bertos stock went up tonight.

I know you heard the HBO crew say a lot of times about how much Ortiz is showing heart now. That's not normal compared to his other fights; they thought he would lay down for Berto due to heart as most probably thought.

So practically it was a totally new reformed Ortiz; hence why they said his stock skyrocketed.

To be fair, a lot of people on this forum have been saying that Berto just isn't as good as advertised. I loved this match up from the start, I knew Ortiz could take him, he's just a better fighter than Berto.

I don't know. I mean, he showed heart, and was in one of the best fights of the year. So props on that.

But tonight re-affirmed the su****ions of many - that Berto frankly isn't that good. That's why we've been crying out for a match-up that would truly test him.

Berto holding(the ref said nothing about that by the way)and laying on the ropes is why he was not KO'd buddy..Anyway he was being hyped by so many as Manny's next opponent(come-on)hyping him..Which is what I mean by hype job..

With experience, maturity, Ortiz got passed his loss. Berto will be the same. He will still be a top welterweight, regardless. He's no hype job. He just fought a spectacular fight and came out on the losing end. It was a close fight.
Being hype to be something you are not is the definition of a hype job..Ortiz was a hype job,he prove tonight he maybe something more..Maybe Berto will do the same thing..Oh and be clear Ortiz is not out of the woods yet he has more to prove..

The only people who knock on Berto, are the ones who have personal reasons for not liking them. Im sorry but Maidana is wayyyy overrated and guys like Bradley, Alexander, Khan did it already, or even Berto, would all be favs and would likely beat em. I love Ortiz, but for people to say "Berto was a Hype job told you", give me a break, he loses 1 fight, just one fight to a damn good fighter, and now its just gloating time for all the detractors. Now would i like to see Andre take on more interesting fights, sure, who wouldnt. Guess what, we say that about EVERY TOP FIGHTER to Floyd Mayweather to David Haye. So if your gonna knock him after what he had, fight of the year so far, just admit that you use pure emotion when you try and judge fighters.

I not trying to take anything from a good showing by Ortiz,I really don't know where so many get this from..It's about Berto and his lack of Opposition, and so many thinking this guy had any kinda shot at beating a Pac or a Mosley..
