Ortiz...Yes. Berto...Not really. Berto was expected to blast through Ortiz and land a possible fight against Floyd, Ortiz jumped from Jr Welterweight and challenged the much hyped Undefeated Welterweight Champ and beat him in every area of the game...I give mad props to Victor because he was supposed to lose in almost everyone's eyes, myself included.
Official Congratulations Ortiz Thread.

Much respect to Victor. I always like the dude (no ****), and wish him the best in the future. He showed true heart and grit tonight, and I'm happy he's now a belt holder.Comment

Easy there buddy, we all give the man his due credit, he fought his heart out and beat a very good, undefeated, and much hyped fighter in Berto. I am beyond impressed with the kid, I wish him all the best of luck! And yes I was one of those....Ortiz haters to a certain extent, but that was only because of the Maidana stunt, personally i've always liked the kid. Glad he's a champ now he really deserves it.Comment

I found myself hopping on the bandwagon yesterday, only for the hope of seeing Berto get what was coming to him. But today, I gladly stay on board the bandwagon.
The dude fought with a ton of heart and determination. There were instances (round 6) where I thought Ortiz would have taken the easy way out, but I was proven wrong tonight. Big ups on Ortiz, that win made my night.Last edited by analog 2; 04-17-2011, 12:23 AM.Comment

That's right He didn't sit on his lead or run away to avoid getting caught, he came forward and took chances even though he had the fight in the bag...what more can you ask from the kid??I found myself hopping on to to the bandwagon yesterday, only for the hope of seeing Berto get what was coming to him. But today, I gladly stay on board the bandwagon.
