What do I care if these fighters win 10 world championships.

    I want to be entertained.

Gatti and Ward were career B level fighters, yet people went to see these guys because they were fun to watch.

What you forget is that this sport is entertainment, and I signed up to see guys get into a slugfest. If I wanted to see dancing I'd flip the channel to see Dancing With Stars!!!

Dude, from a fighters point of view I don't give a **** what you get out of your HBO subscription. If movies aren't enough you have issues. An intelligent fighter goes in there to hit and not get hit not to show you or anyone else how hard of a shot they can take. That spells a short career.
People talk shizz about Floyd but all you have to do is don't tune in!! Watch something else. Don't pay for the pay per view. It's quite simple. Leave the sweet science of boxing to the true fans who appreciate it. I'm teaching my son how to hit and not be hit. Of course he's gonna get hit sometimes but the object is to limit those times. I like exciting fights also but Floyd is a special dude that epidomizes the sweet science.

What you have to understand is that a lot of people out there, me included, think Berto is a pampered fighter that has been paid big bucks to fight bums. I think Berto is a decent fighter but he needed time to develop. He couldn't develop because he fought too many bums.

I pay HBO good money to deliver me good, competitive fights, and what they delivered with Berto was mostly garbage.

Viewers saw this, and because of that Berto was enemy #1. It wan't his fault HBO was giving him these opportunities, but the public is going to view him as the problem.

So, hence, the rejoice of his loss.

On a side note, Berto holds way to much and crouches down every time he gets inside, which is why he gets hit in the back of head. He was the one turning around every chance he got, and that referee should never be allowed back in championship fight, he came out the biggest loser of the night, in an otherwise awesome fight.

Berto walked right into that straight left hand all night. He had no answer for it. He was one demisional all night and Ortiz exploited it.

Sugar, real boxing fans want to see fighters "fight" live bodies, not take vacations. I hope Mayweather stays retired or fights Spadafora, so the world can see him for what he really is, the most talented boxer/manager of his generation, his managerial skills rival his boxing skills, as Common once said in his song to Ice Cube..."we the see the b*tch in you". Not you Sugar...Mayweather lol.

Some would like to say Ortiz showed more then was expected of him

I would like to say Berto never had what was expected of him

from another fighters point of view not everyone is blessed with floyds quickness, timing and ability to counter with such outstanding defense....

just like floyd is not blessed with power , the ability to not hit woman, make good life decisions and to

              pay his taxes..

therefore, in boxing, there are many styles....

marvin hagler was not a pure boxer

in fact, look at the top 30 boxers of all time and let me know who was a PURE

              boxer of floyds style?

and dont say sugar ray robinson....

I was suprised Ortiz was strong in the later rounds but I was even more suprised the referee allowed Berto to constantly hold.
                A good night of upsets!

To say Berto was exposed was RIDICULOUS. The ONLY think Ortiz showed me tonight is he wanted it more than Berto did. I don't think Berto went in with the wrong game plan. I think he disrespected Ortiz by not taking him serious. Berto could have and should have finished the fight in the 6th round. He once again disrespected Ortiz and got caught. I think a rematch is definately due cause now he has to go back, watch the tape, see that Ortiz didn't do anything special strategically. He just wanted it more than Berto did. Ortiz aint getting nowhere near Manny being with Golden Boy. And if Golden Boy is smart, they make him the new cash cow and dont let him go near Floyd. HBO will pay big dollars for that rematch. And WHEREVER it is, I plan on being there. Congradulations to Ortiz and I thank them BOTH for that fight.

This is the best outcome that could have possibly happened, HBO no longer has to meet those ridiculous guarantees, Ortiz opens up possible matchups at welterweight and hopefully we get some air circulating at 147 once again, or let these so called "vacationers" stay on vacation and let boxers who have real balls get some exposure.
