Where are all those Berto morons that were saying Pac should've fought him instead of Mosley. Berto will never be able to carry Mosley's jockstrap let alone beat him.

Cong**** to Ortiz. He is now the third ranked 147 only behind Pacquiao and Mosley.

this is def a lesson for Berto, Cong**** Ortiz, I wanna see a rematch. great fight. Bet Mike Jones wants to fight Berto now. this fight was great, Ortiz shows he belongs at Welter where he should had been 3 fights ago. But Berto had his chance in the 6th, I didn't think Ortiz would get up

GREAT fight by Ortiz. The way he came back from that 2nd knockdown is what makes fighters great. I thought the ref was seriously about to screw Victor by the point deduction which I thought was completely bogus. Berto keeps ducking his head, so its only natural he gets clipped in the head. Berto should have gotten a point deducted for holding though... I mean seriously, every time Ortiz comes in he grabs and holds the guy.

Ortiz just made me a fan again. After that Maidana debacle, I thought he was gonna just fade into oblivion. I think the Berto train may have just sunk, which may be a good thing. Now HBO can direct it's money to fighters that actually deserve it.

Props to both, but Berto legs were gone after the first 2 rounds. Vic better start using his jab a bit more effectively though. Great fight and I am extremely happy for Vic Ortiz......cong****. Come back strong Berto, Im sure he will. But, I had a feeling Vic was going to win. I would not have bet dough on it, but I kinda knew.
Good observation !! A right hook would be good too !!

                    Props to both fighters

I have more respect for Ortiz and Berto after watching that fight than I ever did.

Berto lost but showed durability in a non-stop shootout. He did what he had to do, hit Ortiz with fast and hard shots but the guy everyone had given up on proved his heart. Vic just outworked him and brought the fight inside, where Berto was less effective. And even when Berto just hit him with a hard shot, Ortiz kept punching. Now the same guy who everybody called a quitter is a ****ing world champion in a division where the biggest paydays are, in line to fight the biggest stars of the sport.

Berto has some skills, but because he has the ties with Al Haymon he was never able to fully develop.

He's got good speed and power, but his balance is not right, and he falls into his punches when he throws the right hand. Also, his defense is not good, his defense is basically just smothering and holding his opponent. In any case, this is what happens when you don't develop.
