I think it's a great match were it to be made.

Thing is, JD has been in alot of wars and taken alot of heavy shots. He is a reasonably bright kid with a bright future after boxing, to hear the media tell it.

Does he really want to mix it up w/a heavy-handed slugger on the rise? How many more times does he want his brain to be bounced off the inside of his skull considering the direction his life might be taking post-boxing?

Diaz doesn't have enough left to take it from Brandon, brother. Remember that Juan is accepted into Law school and his future is set. There's no way he can match the fire and intensity of Bam Bam, who's a *hungry* guy on his way to the top.

I like Juan just fine, but he should take some easier fights and consider his options.

After all, he just doesn't need boxing anymore.

Just checked boxrec..... When he beat Freitas he already had the IBF title, and he took the WBO and WBA titles......

His fight against Julio Diaz he had the IiBF, WBO, and WBA titles and the fight was at 135....

Casamayor may have technically been the Ring champ but everyone who saw him fight Santa Cruz knows he was given a gift. Before the Nate Cambell fight Juan Diaz was considered the best and the future of the lw division. He was even considered at one point to be a real threat to Pac.

Either way Juan Diaz was never the ring/lineal champ. NEVER. And, that was my point.

I'm not taking anything away from Juan Diaz, I liked him as a fighter. He had a pretty solid impressive run where I had him in my top 15 P4P at one point.

Juan Diaz is going to get brutalized by Brandon Rios. Juan should have been at 130 Max. Always had fat on his waist. Wrong trainer too. Waste of talent in my opinion.
