    Example:

    Fighter A: "That ***** is a ****in' bum and I'm going to knock him out in 1 round, and I'm going to enjoy beating him while his family watches."

    Fighter B: "He's a great champ and it's going to be an honor sharing the ring with him."

    -----------------------------

    Fans: WTF MAN!? Fighter A has no respect. I hope he loses, I hope that he dies in the ring for having no respect.

    That right there is funny to me, because here you have two guys punching each other in the head to score points or to knock the other one out...that part doesn't bother you, but a little name calling does.

    STFU! WTF! GTFO! ----------------------------->

    People, this is a business, of all the things you consider corrupt to sell the fight, the trash talking should be the last thing.
    I just think the whole "trash talking" to sell fights is really tacky, it’s all fake and it's embarrassing sometimes...

    It's bordering on WWF wrestling and it's unnecessary.

      Point is, it sells. Nothing more, nothing less. We should be arguing here because this is a forum. Exchange of ideas. Not exchange of whining and excuses.

        I'm with RWK on this one. Trash talking prior to a fight is almost expected in many cases because it's almost human nature. After you've proven your point, it's always acceptbale to mention that you won or proved your point, but by hurling further insults towards the fighter it only proves your complete lack of class as a human being. Kicking somebody when they're down is never a good way to get fans.

          I dunno why it sells?

          It's so fake!... It's the same as WWF wrestling, you know it's fake so how can anyone take it seriously?

          I dunno if it's just me, but the whole thing makes me cringe!

            People doesn't like boring fights.

            If the fight was like PACMAN vs someone else, then they need a publicity stunt. I agree with you but in case you're not a P4P best and just some DOn king JACKASS then you really need this drama. lol!

              There are big boxing fans who realize this, but there are also those semi-fans who see the trash talking as very serious. For example, I got friends who are "semi-fans" and usually watch the big fights. If you're a fighter and you can make some of these fools think you really have beef with someone to make more money, why not do it? After all people just looooooove drama.

                Good point... I never really looked at it that way.
