More Top Rank trickery!

Everytime a Top Rank card is built some of the best fights on the card always get cancelled just before fightnight. When Pacman fought Clottey the card wass supposed to have Pavlik and Arce in tough fights both were cancelled. Pacman's last card was supposed to have Pavlik again and someone else they pulled out and Top Rank did nothing to replace them. Top Rank seems to do this quite abit. I think they BS these cards just to sell tickets and then as the card gets closer they just **** on us. GBP actually try to make us fans happy. Top Rank is just taking from us blatantly and fingering us at the same time. So what is Top Rank doing to replace Soto vs Antillon II? This is a case of Bob Arum not caring becuase the tickets are sold. Look at that Chavez vs Wolak card. 2 days before the fight Chavez backs out and they Make Alfonzo Gomez as the main event.

get real. the fight was canceled due to Soto's unhappiness with his promotional contract not because Top Rank wanted to trick people

bob does some shady stuff but the two main examples you mentioned (soto & the pavlik last last time) weren't bobs fault. Pavlik was going through real hard times and soto left top rank unexpectedly (apparently soto hasn't been technically signed to top rank for a couple years).

but fights get cancelled all the time for reasons ranging from the flu, money issues, commission / red tape issues, all the way to cowardess / not wanting to become a part of somebody's highlight reel

To accuse ANY promoter of being even "nearly as bad" as Don King should be actionable, in my opinion. Let alone 10 times as bad. Does that mean he has to commit 15-20 murders as well?

A properly run promotion business (like Top Rank) normally not only advertises the main event, but the whole supporting programme. Occasionally there is a T.B.A., for a minor fighter, but the main guys, the real attractions are already signed, sealed and, presumably, ready to go.

If and when they don't, this is rarely if ever, the fault of the promoter, it has to do with the fighter, injury, money, manager problems, sickness in the family, Earthquakes in Haiti, and many other things I don't want to be bothered thinking about. I don't even want to be thinking about this, but you seem to need some setting straight.

It is nearly always the fault of others, NOT the promoters, unless they suddenly go bankrupt. These are matters BEYOND their control. To blame them is unfair,'
