Why isnt Sergio calling out Canelo?

Your question was answered, and I agreed. It's about money, plain and simple. Whatever Sergio might've said takes a backseat to business. Martinez might want the belt, but not at the expense of his career/bank account. That's really all there is to it. "Maravilla" is a professional athlete looking to maximize his earning potential while his window of opportunity is still open. Picking on Saul Alvarez is the equivalent of schoolboy games.Comment

Come on man...really?
Martinez would beat them both in the same night. Kirkland, on a good night, a perfect night for him offensively, would ultimately be broken down by Martinez's counter punching and movement. You can't carry that much muscle and survive unless you have excellent conditioning...Kirkland's conditioning was crap.
Canelo stands a better chance but he is a relatively flatfooted fighter who is an inside fighter. Dude would get tagged trying to get in on Sergio repeatedly and especially when he tries to go to the body, that overhand left would eat him up.
Martinez steamrolls him early and eases off only to step on the gas around the 6th rd to put Canelo down by the 8th rd. After the Cintron fiasco and the subsequent Williams 1 questionable scoring, Martinez knows that he needs to go for the KO in every fight. He will not coast to a decision in America again, so anyone he fights is going to take a beating if Serg can help it.Comment

There's bigger money fights though. Canelo can bring some, but he asked why Martinez hasn't called him out. I think the main thing is that Canelo isn't ready. I don't think this fight should be made right now. Canelo is very young and needs to build his career more.Comment
