just look at the unfounded insults I got for this thread.
Yes, I've noticed, and completely undeserved. This was once by far the best boxing site on the net, with almost NO obscenties nor crazies. If they wandered in they didn't last long, because the posts, although often "hot and heavy" were reasoned, knowledgeable and in good taste. And beyond their understanding. I learned a lot from some of those bygone posters.

Nowadays, it seems, that at the first sign of opposition, or even without any cause at all, it all will degenerate into some of the vilest obscenities and foulest of language, that I wonder how these people can regard themselves as human beings.

I don't even know the meanings of half of the terms, but I know they mean "no good". if they were permanently banned, this site would regain it's long lost posters who liked an intellctual, logical, discussion full of clarity and literate language. It's easy to spot barefaced "chancers" as against those for whom English is not a first language, and whom I respect.

Most of these posters, as you point out, must be very young, and are only recently joined. So really, how could they actually know anything about the finer points of logic and fact, the things which interest boxing enthusiasts like you and I.

I suppose the best thing is just to ignore them, but I admit that this sometimes is very hard.

      Hmm, strange I just did.

You pulled that lie out of your hat. Vitali fights more frequent than Ali, Frazier, Larry Holmes, Leon Spinks (fights from career start to end).

      You simply invented stuff.

Wladimir fights even more frequent than Joe Louis.

When you only check the real heavyweight fights (200x2) (since it's so much easier to fight more often against light guys) then it turns out that Wladimir Klitschko (out of 78 world champs) is the second most frequent fighter of all time after Brian Nielsen, who was of course only an IBO champ, thus (if you exclude IBO champs) Wlad is the most frequent real heavyweight champ of all time.

Nostalgists live in some wonderland and it's always a pleasure to smack hard facts into their fantasy paled faces.
Active as in a fight and amount of punches. Yeah I make up stuff cause I started watching boxing yesterday and never laced a glove either.

Some ppl here don't respect the other person's opinions and retort to name calling. But if you post your opinion is up to debate, if we had all the same opinion the world would be a boring place

The 60's and 70's were not the golden age of HW boxing. That was a time when big men were just starting to make it in boxing. Now in the 90s,00's and now we have big men that can actually box.

Oh cr*p, now you mean "amount of punches".

Let me assure you that Clay is one of the laziest punch outputter there is while Vitali is one of the most active (compuboxing numbers).

Usually Clay hangs on the ropes ("rope and hope") or runs circles around his opponent ("merry-go-rounding") without punching and in the end not even KOs his opponent.

If that is some standard you want to return to then help you god.

But, hey, Clay shuffles more ("running-in-air-like-scooby-doo"). Probably that's what you actually meant by "more active than Vitali".

And by the way, _Big_ Foreman would be the BOTTOM-3 LIGHTEST opponent Vitali has ever faced.

Except that they delete the SLIGHTEST Clay criticism in the history section. That's how one creates the illusion that the Ali fan base is stronger than it actually is.

So Ali doesnt deserve the praise he gets and Vitali deserves more? heh.

The 70s was a golden age of HW boxing. Ive said this a million times, but I guess Ill have to say it again...2 70s heavyweights(Foreman and Holmes) still had success in the 90s, even over 40 and obviously past their prime.

Foreman became lineal champ and even deserved to beat Briggs at 48 years old, and Briggs somehow is still going the distance with Vitali years and years later.

past 40 Holmes beat Ray Mercer more dominantly than prime Lewis. surely even blinded Klitschko fans respect Lewis' abilities.

Shavers faced a much higher level of competition. If he was fighting now he'd be a long reigning champion.
