Most of the replies here observed how Berto's style of excessive clinching/holding affects his popularity...That's why Berto even with his undefeated record and as champion is not a must see fighter or likable by the fans...His talent is overshadowed by this style of holding/clinching, w/c is unpleasing to the eyes of most fans...That's why this is boxing not wrestling!

When Berto fought Juan Urango, the moment he felt Urangos power he started to hit and hold. Boring fighter. Fights smaler men and still needs to hold on. Hope they deduct points from him if he holds Ortiz. If not for the holding, Urango would have beat

He re-hydrated 15+lbs for that fight, did he not? He couldn't make 140 anymore whether he admits it or not and coming in at 141 then 156 the night of the fight just proves it.
