It's Soto's own fault along with Joe Cortez's that it has taken Soto so long to get going. First, he lost to Joan Guzman who beat him easily and then Joe Cortez disqualified him for so-called hitting Francisco Lorenzo while he was down (which should have been a KO for Soto). So, he was forced to work his way back into contention. Arum got him the first Antillon fight and had him lined up for a rematch to be the main undercard on huge PPV card with Pacquiao vs. Mosley. Soto can do whatever he wants but he can't blame Arum for this, if he would have fought and beat Antillon again, Soto could then go wherever and command a big fight. He may still get a big fight now but look at the exposure he would have got on the PPV undercard. Only time will tell if he made the right decision. And for the record, I was never all that high on Soto anyway, he's never beaten anyone really good while they were in their prime other than Antillon...

Arum has just told us that Soto os NOT a Top Rank fighter has not been for several years, and has problems with Zanfer, not Top Rank.

He was on the Top Rank show only because of Top Rank's relationship with Zanfer, something very common in boxing with reciprocations between promoters.

So what can't you understand??

I have confirmation from Soto's attorney that his contract ran out with Top Rank in 2009, but there are other issues at play and it has to be determined if those issues fall on the shoulders of Top Rank or Zanfer Promotions.

as of right now, Soto is listed as a Top Rank fighter. the **** Arum pulled in the past was fine but people can't be fooled by his **** anymore.

I assume that he did not want to go into what the other issues are, as I'd bet you asked him. You seem to be implying a decision of the sort made by an arbitrator or court???

I know that people like Arum are smart enough to try to stay out of court if at all possible. It takes up so much wasted time and pots of money, and generally court cases are settled out of court anyway, so why not cut all that out and try to come to an agreement before it all gets out of hand.
