Why did Mosley not fight at Light Welter?

I know he has campaigned at 135, 147 and 154 but not at 140.. Anyone know why? Surely at some point he was at 147 when he was younger he could have went down to 140 and picked up a title.. Why go straight from 135-147?

Oscar De La Hoya offered him a lot of money to fight him at 147.

Correct, He was searching for a big money fight against DLH. Kind of the same reason Pac and May jump up the weightclasses as well.

he got offered the DLH fight...it did well and he stuck around WW for the rematch

although at the time, i wanted to see him in there against Kostya and maybe Zab...woulda been good JWW bouts

i think Sharmba Mitchell was still relevant back then too

The man there dominated Vernon Forrest.

Cause the first fight was so good he stuck around to get a rematch. He also moved up to 154 and did some questionable things for that rematch.

I respect Mosley as a fighter, but that's the only fight i think he didn't earn.
