If Martinez fights Manfredo or Ishida, then I will be extremely dissapointed.

Martinez only fights twice a year, this is the only fight he will have for a while. Dzinziruk was a 'passable' fight, but now he needs to fight a top fighter at middleweight. and I feel great for Ishida and everything for the upset, but give me a break! this is a weak fight.

he should be fighting Pirog, or Sturm, even guys like Geale, Sylvester, Macklin and Rubio deserve shots more than Ishida and Manfredo....
oh yeah, what about Golovkin too?

i don't care what anyone says. ishida earned a shot at martinez! the way he destroyed kirkland was amazing. people who didn't know who ishida was now know he is. rubio and ishida are one of the most known top middleweights right now besides martinez!

LOL! i thought martinez the great only fights the best?...

is sergio really that scared of moving up to 168?... i mean, he fought a world champion in pavlik, a former world champion in williams, a laid-off superwelterweight in dzinziruk, and now either manfredo or ishida?...

People keep saying how much of a joke fight this is for Martinez but the real joke is that none of the top, best guys wanted to fight him. I wouldn't mind seeing Martinez blast Pirog's head off just to shut people up but even then it will be an excuse on why Pirog is not a legit win for Martinez. Martinez just has to do Martinez and I for one know that if a big fight came from one of the top fighters in the sport that he would jump on it. Good ol "Haterscene" always seeing one side of the coin when there are two sides to it.

But there are so many better options than this. Why are Martinez's people talking about Manfredo and Ishida instead of talking about Pirog or Sturm or Cintron or a third fight with Williams or Angulo, etc, etc. If none of those guys want it, then at least he tried, but he should be trying to make those fights. If Martinez wastes time fighting nobodies trying to land a fight with two welterweights, we shouldn't support that as boxing fans.

Williams,Pavlik,Williams,Dzindiruk are his last 4 fights give me a ****ing break. If Martinez takes on a Manfredo or Ishida type of opponent after that string of tough fights i wont hold it against him as long as it doesnt become a habit. The Williams fan and Pac fans are just hurt lol and have a bias.

I think they should give Brian Vera a shot. He's coming off of the best win of his career and he's TV friendly.
