agreed & at this stage of his career & guys like sosnowski, kingpin, briggs all getting title shots then why would he take a fight on 2 weeks notice with a guy like fury? makes no sense & has nothing to do with him being afraid.hes 37 & needs a full camp to fight a guy like fury.he loses to fury on short notice hes done.he admitted to not being in great shape either.he is #5 in WBA so why risk it when hes in line for a bigger fight & payday? anyone who thinks hes scared is pretty blind....

Because Povetkin pulled out, and so the IBF made Rahman Wlad's mandatory because he was the next highest ranked.

And because HBO wanted Rahman, for some reason.

    That was in 2008.

    It's 2011.

    Rahman chickened out.

He didn't want to face the taller fighter.

But he's running out of opportunities, he hasn't had a decent win for 5 or 6 years now. He should have gone over for the good payday.

Can Rahman really make a $250k fighting someone else though? If he fights anyone in the top 10, he will lose. And I think not doing the Prizefighter thing or whatever it is called is a big mistake. For three rounds, Rahman can go all out. Now, he gets gassed in the middle rounds (earlier in his career it was the late rounds) and this would be his opportunity to get some quick wins. Maybe I am wrong but I hate to say it, Rahman is an opponent now for guys to make a name off of and I can't see him getting $250K to fight anyone else...
