I love boxing sooo much. I hate certain fighters and love certain fighters. But,,,, no matter who ALL of us on this board love (klitsko bros, tzyu) or hate (toney,byrd, mayweather) isnt it so ***ing annoying when you are ecstatic about a fight or a fighter and your friends or acquiantces just look at you like you are crazy and berate boxing. I say live and let live, but I dont care about overpaid: football,baseball,soccer,hockey,tennis,and worst of basketball players who NEVER EVER had to struggle like a pro fighter. Boxing is the god of all sports. Its nauseating to turn on sportscenter and watch some scumbag baseball player who never had to struggle a day in his life running around whining. Boxing is king, we need to go back to boxing on all week long on TV!!!

Yeah, I agree. Most of the guys at my gym know boxing fairly well, but the average fan knows NOTHING. They know of usually Gatti, Tyson, and the K bro's.
It pisses me off when boxing is treated 2nd rate by Canadian broadcasting here. I didn't get to see the Soto - Juarez fight TWICE, because of the blue jays. -

Profighters work ten million times harder then any other pro athlete. Look at a football player who is pro. He was a superstar in high school, coddled in college, and gets huge money to play pro football. Has tons of time off and if he has a horrible year, he can still make lots of money in other leagues, coaching etc etc. A pro fighter can be great and lose one fight nad his income can disentagrate to a 1/35th of what he was making.
Baseball, basketball, soccer and tennis are all sports that do not require the hard work of boxing. Athletes in these sports spend their whole lives coddled. There is no Diego Corrales in tennis, There is no Joe Frazier of soccer, There is no Artoro Gatti in Basketball, There is no Ricardo Lopez of baseball_- BTW baseball players are the most worthless laziest athletes on the planet.Comment

I am a freak boxing fan who can not talk to anyone about the sport. Well, maybe a few but if I want to really talk about boxing, I gotta go and discuss fights with my uncle who is 48 years old and has been a fan for all his life. I hold my own well against my uncle because I am one of those persons who studies things that interest them. All in all, I feel like I am one of few boxing fans around here.Comment

Well, the people who don't know boxing would be half the folks who post on this forum. They're cheerleaders only and fill up the board with their goofy icons. I don't know many boxing fans where I live, but I noticed that when I mention boxing most people are curious about it and enjoy learning about it.
The average fan don't know squat about sports in general which is how Vegas makes all it's money.Comment
