I just like the way that mexicans and puerto ricans DONT CARE ABOUT RACE/SKIN COLOR of their fighters - it;s all about LOVE OF THE GAME, HEART, and NATIONAL PRIDE baby! so inspiring and motivating. . . haha and i love the rivarly - ive been to a few mexican v. PR fights and there are always scraps breaking out in the audience. that's why im glad the latin diaspora is coming to america because it will NOT WEAKEN our boxing culture, BUT ENHANCE IT!

Who really followed Manny until he beat Barrera? If Floyd was to fight Berto and Berto gave him a hell of a fight, win or lose the world would know who he was and he would gain alot of supporters. How about if Manny fought Tim Bradley?Their styles would create fireworks. Afterwards the world would know who Bradley is and he would get many new followers. But the superstars of today avoid talented young black fighters. That's why i loved Oscar De La Hoya. He didn't win alot of the big fights, but he fought the best. Pernell Whitaker, Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather, and even Ike Quartey were not selling out arenas when he fought them. But,they were considered the best when he fought them and made them household names. That's what helps out fighters as well as boxing itself.
I get the point you making and agree with most of it. But Whitaker was the man before De la Hoya was even thought about in pro boxing!!! Whitaker is a ATG who De la Hoya can't even hold a candle too.

I listed 8 members who are devoted Floyd fans and are usually the most vocal. Not just one where you can say I'm generalizing, but 8. Tell me, who else are these guys fans of? They all claim to be black and NEVER talk about any other african american fighter unless he's a threat to floyd in which they only speak negatively about them.

I hear the same thing about Baseball and the MLB needing to do extra to get the Afrcan-Americans back into it aswell. They say that its boring to the kids now, too slow or w.e. And that they need to add more excitment to the game. I find that funny because I love Baseball and everyone other then the AA's I speak to about it, say they love it just the way it is too. Idk but there is some internal issues with the AA's as for as certain sports go. At the end of the day, Peterson is calling out the AA's to support all their Fighters because they don't get it the way Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Europeans and Filipinos do. I wonder if they will use the Boxing is boring excuse as thet do with Baseball.

The bottom line is, I'm a black man that love sports. My favorite sport is boxing. If a fighter is exciting, i don't care what race or nationality he comes from, I will support him. I love Timothy Bradley, Berto, Judah,Dawson, and way too many others to name. When these guys start putting on performances like Sergio Martinez and Paquioa, or some of the greats like Leonard , Hagler, Duran, and Hearns...I'll travel wherever to support them.

you are a real boxing fan - that's whats up man, me too. the racial **** is for the birds. it's an outdated way of thinking, best left in the past where it belongs. i think basically every race on the planet has proved that they can box. . .

I agree but I don't. There isn't nothing wrong with supporting fighters of your race. There is something with not liking certain fighters just because they aren't of your race. I hope I made sense with what I said just now. There just isn't any support for the Black fighters and the biggest group of support comes from within the black community.

What the phuck is he talking about? Nobody is paying money to see this boy throw arm punches all damn night, hollerin "AH!!,AH!!" Like he is really throwing something...Fight fans like to see knockouts and beat downs straight up, and Lamont Peterson brings none of that to the table... Malignaggi would get in that ass... Put on a show the fight fans like to see and we will come see you... Knockouts or electricity...nothing else in between...Show us something that we wouldn't mind paying to see again...Like pacquaio fights are comedy to me... I don't mind paying to see how the next dude is going to get laid flat, or to see the look on Big Bully's faces like De La Hoya, Cotto and Margarito's faces when the little man they picked a fight with this time starts getting in that ass...That uppercut that made Cotto do the electric bugaloo was classic...
