Im not saying Martinez is scare, he just doesnt want to fight Pirog. I doesnt matter what Pirog did in his last fight or against Jacobs is just that his style is all wrong for MArtinez and Martinez knows it. Pirong have the power, speed and reflexes to make sergio look bad and possibly beat him.

i say rubio/pirog fight and the winner takes martinez if chavez doesn't want to fight martinez after he wins the belt from zbik. cotto/margs winner can fight angulo or someone, after that, the winner meets martinez at 154.....sounds like a pretty good schedule for martinez. hopefully most of these fights happen...

And Ishida beat kirkland...so what? RUBIO has 50 professional wins. He's a good boxer, veteran, with great counter punching (with power i may add). I would be more comfortable watching a proven veteran like RUBIO go against the dangerous P4P King Martinez.

And it's great for Argentinans and Mexicans....we'll have another Morales/Maidana. Even though Rubio dosen't have much drawing power, Mexicans will still show up to support him. Puerto ricans and mexicans are the most loyal fans.

sounds like a good stay busy fight for martinez. rubio is a solid veteran and he just took out a hyped prospect. he beat lemieux on experience alone. but he doesn't have the skills to compete with martinez. martinez by wide UD.
