You do know he will be getting a big payday from hbo as well right? Also from international fees around the world. He cares more about money than most other boxers he wouldnt go thru with the fight if he just got british money.

This is a stay busy fight and considering that Brits don't even know his opponent very well it's still a good sized purse. I think what's really to blame for this is the haye v fraudly fiasco and the backlash from that ppv. and this matchup doesn't seem much better so I don't blame sky.

lol @ this. He loses money if he doesn't go ahead with it. His training camp was costy for this fight, so he'd essentially lose 6 weeks of training for nothing. And this isn't exactly the most top notch fight he's been in so far either.

3/4 of the undercards were canceled on that show so the original broadcaster trashed the whole show! Even though he can talk too much sometime, I gotta respect Khan for still going ahead with that fight when he's taking a major hit to the pocket like this.

If that happened to Mayweather, Pacquiao, Klitschkos, Haye.. the show would be instantly canceled. Khan's gotta be respected for going through with the fight. You know what I mean? Takes a true fighter to lose that amount of money before a fight and still go ahead with it.
What respect? The dude is a moron and his family should concentrate on driving cabs and not trying to do things they have no talent in.Mayweather would have organised things properly but this bunch of misers try to get everyone to fight for free, that wont work.Driving a cab and running boxing shows are totally different things. What an embarassment this idiots are to the boxing community.I'm glad Sky would not take his bull**** and know Primetime wont broadcast this rubbish because they wont be able to recoup their costs.

Cancel then make the fight with Bradley.
Or keep the fight, and fight Bradley next. Either way they're not fighting until July. Might as well see an extra fight in the mean time.

It's hard for me to go, "Wow, what a badass!" when that's still a huge amount of money and it is this close to the fight.

but i don't think this would EVER happen to either Pac or Floyd. Their names are just so big and any fight they would participate in would be too heavily invested for their promoters to allow any form of distractions to derail it.
yeah, its very unlikely to happen to Floyd or Pac but if a similar scenario ever came up I think they'd both cancel. it wouldn't happen though like you say there's too much invested in them. but on the flipside, khan has a lot invested in him too, more than the majority of other champions out there (whether that's justifiable or not)

I'm sure if he canceled the fight he could easily recoup £150,000 to £250,000 with a lawsuit against the broadcasters and hatton promotions for not fulfilling their obligations. The contract he signed must offer some protection for him from this kind of dramatic drop in purse so by deciding to go ahead with the fight he's taking the much harder route to the same money he get from a lawsuit.
