Agreed, and I'm sure he can avenge that loss to Pascal.

It has always been like this, but the failed prospects get lost in annals of time while the few who pass every test become superstars.

i thought "well hold up... wasnt he THE man at 175 for a while?"
that whole 1 loss and a fighter is shot/shopworn/exposed etc is ridiculous... how can anyone with that mentality even be into sports?!

The media and promoters alike have built up the importance of being unbeaten to the point where, fighters are over protected and undermatched. Big sports networks want to see young, marketable, unbeaten prospects.

Most of my favourite fighters have been beaten, quite often by inferior fighters... Lennox, Benn, Pacquiao, Chavez, Monzon etc.

I'd rather see a gifted fighter take on the best opposition and sometimes come up short than avoiding the best opposition to protect their unbeaten status.

These are just a few of the many failed prospects in recent times, i know some of these guys can come back still, but seriously.

The best new guys who have come through have been Martinez, who is 35 years old and Nonito Donaire, who no offence to him but he's too low a weight to engage the casual fans imo. And Carl Froch, who again is getting up there in years.

              Who else is there?

Andre Ward? he's boring as ****, and tbqh he's highly untested and I wouldnt be surprised if Froch knocks him out in the finals of the super 6 and he drops off the radar.

Canello? he's ok but far from spectacular.

Bute? The fact that he's into his 30's and still has the resume of a prospect says it all.

Bradley? Solid fighter but nothing phenominal imo.

Khan? Another good fighter, but too one dimensional right now.

Wheres all the future ATG's at?
              Those arent prospects.

The first time he stepped up he was embarrased, weather through lack of ability or his own psychological problems.

I'm not saying "sucks" as an overarching term, but Chad Dawson isn't the future of anything imo.

On the way up did Ali, Leonard,Hearns or any of the other guys we talk about produce anything remotely like that diabolical performance against Pascal?

I want to know where the next ATG is, not just an above average belt holder in an average division.

                Wheres the next game changer
What the hell are you talking about earl?

                Adamek, Johnson, Tarver.

                C'mon bro.

They dont suck men ! What really sucks are today boxing fans ! Fighters cant give a bad fight or they become "overrated" or they are seem like "shot"

Cmon even the legendary fighters back in the day lost fights, and gave bad shows from time to time its a matter of styles u cant always look good.

But today with the internet and all that... fans have turned more and more into haters.

I'm saying I don't think the necessarily suck, there are plenty of good prospects out there, but I do believe that the current amateur system creates a different breed of fighter.

you go your whole life fighting with that pitty pat style just trying to score little quick ones and two's here and there, then come to the pro's it's a whole different ball game.
