My respect for Pacquiao went up last night.

Yeah, he's not that good. But he is dangerous.

It's still pretty phenominal that Morales can get in the ring with Maidanna at this stage and argubally win.

some posters on here are crazy....
maidana isn't a very experienced fighter. he has flaws and losses to fighters on his caliber. an experienced veteran with some left in him would have done what morales did to him last night, stop blowing maidana up as a proven monster.

Absolutely. He is dangerous, but I was pretty upset with Ortiz when he lost to him because he should have beat the guy. And, I thought that Khan could had a much easier time with him as well.

he won, it was hardly a beating.

Morales was shot when he fought Pacqiauo, atleast the 3rd time. The 2nd fight he was past his best but a solid win none the less. Solid, nothing more nothing less.

And Morales is clearly still shot. He's just that good that even though he's shot he can still arugbally beat Maidanna level fighters.
not true...morales has never been stopped before fighting pacman...him having lost to raheem as the basis of him being shot is ridiculously inaccurate...raheem was just a bad style matchup for erik...duran looked like **** overall in the rematch vs srl....., laing, hearns, hagler was years later so it means that if pac's win over erik aint all that then hearns, and hagelr's win over duran aint that good either....

              It's NOT crazy.

Morales was not given any chance BEFORE the fight. The HBO commentators looked embarrassed BEFORE the start of the fight that they even had anything to do with this fight happening. They kept on saying "its Morales that wanted it".

After the first round, they (HBO) said it was going as expected ..... since Morales already had a swollen eye and had a bad first round.

Thing is, he's good enough to stomp Ortiz and give Khan hell. That Morales did so well and arguably beat Maidana either says a lot about how good even a crap, shot Morales is or says even more about how bad 140 just might be. Kotelnik was a good technical boxer that kept the fight in the middle of the ring and Maidana lost a controversial decision many think he should have won.

I agree with everything Maidana is truly terrible, and thanks for the link yesterday, much appreciated.

I thought Corley beat him and I have said 140 was overrated as hell for a long time.

losing to Raheem didn't conclude he was shot. But it concluded he was past prime. But like I have said over and over again, his 2nd win over Morales is solid. Nothing more, nothing less.

Duran didn't look like **** in the 2nd Sugar Ray Leonard fight, at all. It was a reasonably close fight up until the No Mas. So that point means nothing,

Hagler's win over Duran isn't all that, at all.

Hearn's win over Duran was a solid win. Vs. a past prime Duran in his 3rd weight class. However the way he did it was obviously very good.

So yeah, your own examples pretty much conclude that Pacqiauo's win over Morales 'ain't all that'.

Thanks for making this much easier.

Morales wasted 4 years of his prime(Age 30-33) in retirement, all because he lost to the greatest fighter in the world.

Morales couldve been champion at lightweight all this time. A shame really....
