Fact is he ran his mouth about what he could do against Martinez and Bute, fact I called him a clown for it, he looks ****** right now, Rubio is a well rounded boxer, but he still is somewhat of a stepping stone, and David got stepped on, reminds me of Andy Lee, when steward said he was ready for Winky now, then got rolled by Vera, took him 3 years to climb back, so good luck David at that Martinez or Bute shot, oh and like I said about his power against Martinez, you really think he hits harder than Pavlik? he's not fast, can't counter and over rated power.

I understand what you're saying, but I would like to mention that Anber has always advocated that a fighter not take excess punishment. He was very upset that the Pacquiao-Cotto fight wasn't stopped, for example.

In the postfight interview, Anber stated that Lemieux was taking too many big shots and that he was at a point where he couldn't come back. At the end of the day, Russ Anber has been with David since he was nine years old---who out there knows Lemeiux better?

Great post, it's funny how people say it was stopped early. David is young and doesn't know how to hold when he's in trouble. Sometimes a loss is the best thing that can happen for a boxer to learn his full potential.

Lemieux's own people stopped the fight so you can't really complain about an early stoppage.

Definitely an illegal punch. The rabbit punch knocked him down, and he didn't recover in time. The stoppage I'm split on though. I think It would've eventually come unless Lemieux held and kept running away the rest of the round, which I know he wasn't gonna do.

It was not an illegal punch. Caught him right in the side of the head, above the ear.

Wow! Can't believe Lemieux lost to a guy that a post-Hopkins Pavlik stopped in nine! From the sounds of it, he just gassed out. Just goes to show, that in boxing, sometimes it's better to hit for average, rather than be a homerun hitter who strikesout often. Ya' gotta' leave something in the tank for the later rounds, no matter how powerful you punch. Just ask Wlad Klitshcko about that.

This sucks for Lemieux. I'm Canadian, and he was being pretty heavily hyped. Hopefully he can bounce back. Some fighters can, but a lot of times, it can totally derail a career. His confidence must be shot. I mean, it sounds like he thought he was gonna' walk right through this guy, and got stopped himself.

Sounds like he needs to learn some more technique, rather than relying purely on power.

One way or the other, it's A HUGE SETBACK.

Gassed out, not even close. The dude got punched in the nose and didn't recover from their, what sad is that TS thinks it was an illegal punch even though both guys were facing each and separated.
