He's not a hype job or anything but his flaws were highlighted, that's all.

I'd take it easy on him if I didn't have a certain disdain for Canadian fighters who are under the Montreal Boxer Protection Umbrella.

I mean, he just got ko'd by a Pavlik leftover. People were criticizing Pavlik for taking on Rubio and some other Mexican mandatory, after the B-Hop loss. And this guy, a rising star gets creamed against him.

I was getting ready to make a thread about how this is a sucker for Martinez's right, that's been Ko'ing guys lately, should his Management cash in on the WBC Mandatory position. Never mind now, Rubio gets another title shot.

I agree entirely and take no issue with that. The only people who can say he's a hypejob, overrated, or a bum were those saying it before tonight and I don't remember anyone posting that before tonight.

If you not only lose to Rubio but also stopped by him you shouldnt be taken seriously.

Defend him all you want but that was a piss poor outing vs a piss poor fighter.

The veteran plays it cool, lets the young killer punch himself out and stops him midway in a huge upset... I wonder if this pattern will persist across the weekend. I gave Rubio no chance and he proved me wrong. I also give Morales no chance....

He was clearly winning the fight, but his inexperience showed the last 2 rounds. That doesnt mean Rubio is better or that Lemieux is a bum, it just means he didn't know what to expect and the experience overcame at the end.

Rubio is actually a pretty decent boxer/mover. If it wasn't for his flaw of always getting trapped against the ropes constantly and getting pummeled, he'd be pretty good with that jab, faints and side stepping he does.

He is one chromosome away from being a Slick African-American Boxer.

I don't defend his flaws. He's 22 years old. His corner stopped it. He looked decent early on, he just struggled down the stretch and wasn't mentally all there. Rubio fought smart (and he's not piss poor).

If this was Manny Pacquaio vs Medgoen Singsurat in 1999 and he got stopped everyone would be in a frenzy about how Pacquiao was a bum and lost to an overrated Thailand hypejob.

                    Don't overreact please.

Only a prime Pavlik and Ouma could beat Rubio(Not counting very early fights).

                      David is not elite.

But he's not a joke ether.

                      He's still has potential.

What he needs to do is to stop loading up on all his punches.

Its really hard to go 12 like that.
