I think all the talk of Mosley being a more powerful puncher (even by us the fans) maybe increased his belief that he is a murderous one punch destroyer...

well being a good puncher is not always about being able to flat out, 10 count, eyes rolled in the back of their head, KO someone...Corrales and Pacquiao are good punchers...but in more volumes...one with leverage (Corrales) and one with speed (Pacman)

Mosley more with quick accurate shots...he puts a lot behind is punches so in his combinations, they will hurt...the problem is that he doesn't seem to have the confidence to throw combinations anymore...

As far as his jab goes, no it has never been the best...but it always helped because he used it as a range finder to setup combos...he also can have a quick snappy jab to keep his opponent off balance...it was never a Liston like drill jab...never a missle...but a snappy and pawing one which can help just as much in its own way...

I think it is a confidence thing...but I also think Mosley is the type that will step it up when he is in the big fight...

i have made an observation about , mosely , delahoya ,and trindad . it seems to me when all of them moved up in weight they lost their balance and speed . it seems to me that oscar and felix were lightweights they moved around the ring like panthers , now they seem stiff . with trindad i was surprised that after the hopkins fight he was finished forever . i have seen this a few times before where a fighter takes such a bad beating they are never the same again .

        any intelligent comments on that.

his best punchs always been his left hooks
particularly that leaping left hook to the body, full weight xfer punch that's lightning fast. that dude would **** ME UP with one of those

Sugar Shane Mosley should be KOing this guys left and right.
He said it himself that he hits hard as hell with those 8 oz. gloves.
I guess he doesn't hit as hard as he thinks he does.

the reason his performance was lackluster? he's an "old soldier" , simple as that..

he'll never look as good as he did vs DLH, which was the look of a just below current mayweather caliber phenom

Shane Mosley is a SHOT fighter and has been for a long time. I went into the Mosely/Delahoya fight cheering for Mosely and found it hard to watch the last couple rounds. The only people more shocked at the crazy decision than me was his corner and Shane himself. But gift decision or not he was not the same fighter then that he was just a year earlier and he has only looked worse each fight since. Its not the weight its not the style of his opposition it is him. He will never beat a top teir skilled fighter again and it is a sad thing to watch when he was soooo good just a few years ago and somehow lost "it" without ever taking a beating. Maybe it was the roids, but I hope not.

yea, mosley wasnt as impressive as i hoped in his last two fights against these awkward guys.but could zab or mayweather of been that much better against them.

now that shane says he's ready i hope zab and/or floyd picks him for a fight.i mean pbf and zab are going to be either sitting on there hands or fighting bums anyway.

i feel that a mosley/zab or mosley/floyd would bring the best out of shane.he could handle what power they have and he would slow their speed assetts down with body punches.and it would be a legit ppv.
