Does the weight really suprise anyone? He weighed in at 144 for his last fight at 150. The only way he makes 147 is if he eats like Arreola.

There isn't one good reason for Manny to face him at 135 or 140. JMM has no pull at the negotiation table, needs Manny, so why in the hell would Pacquiao try to do Marquez any favors?

Because, it would be historic. It would give him his 5th lineal belt. And, it would be 3 of the original 8 weight-classes. He would be the 3rd fighter ever along with Bob Fitzsimmons and Henry Armstrong to have that accomplishment.

Plus a win over JMM at 135 would be greater than a win over JMM above 135.

I'm sure Marquez wouldn't care if the fight took place at 147. This gives him a shot a Pacquiao's title and more importantly, it would make him the first mexican fighter to win a title in four different weight classes. Even with or without a title being on the line and whatever weight they fight at, these two guys won't disappoint the fans.

Cosign. I think Pac should have no problem making weight at 135. It would be great if they fight in this weight and Pac should weigh in the same between 144-148 but I doubt Arum and Roach will agree on this anyway.
