I'm on the fence. I don't support criminals crossing the border and going rampant, but I can't dog people who try to make a better life for themselves... So it was okay for European immigrants to "illegally" take over the land that was the Native Americans', because they had power, and the Native Americans didn't? Fast forward a few years and you have the Americans taking land that was the Mexicans' for the same damn reason. You know what? From a certain perspective, the power is shifting, and what was once taken away, is being taken back. This scares many, but they're going to have to deal with it. You took something that wasn't yours, and now slowly, but surely, it's being recovered. Cry me a river... Embrace the change, it is inevitable and what can be done is create an environment that embraces the positive of this change because you can't stop it, so feed it positively and hope it comes out right... I'm more against entitlements than immigration to be honest, make them part of society, make them part of the system, they are already there and doing so can only be beneficial in the long run. Immigration and population growth nurtures economies, those that don't have this particular stagnate.

Self-reliance... the US has KILLED this value in PR. There is a 25% of the population that works their ass off to make a better future, pays the bills, pays the tax man, and doesn't take a cent of government money and handouts, the rest? Can't be bothered, its too easy to live when there's big brother with a handout... I'm PR, proudly, but I hate what our society has become. How do we kick start our economy? If any side, being the ******s from the mexican side or the ******s from the Puerto Rico side were to put anything almost racist about Filipinos, the threads wouldn't last a few minutes.
