What if Floyd fought Margarito??

So you say Cintron isn't a real fighter? Or Clottey? Or even Lujan?? Lujan beat Castillo. I've never been a fan of Margarito, but he did beat some good, even very good, fighters. He did well against Pwill too, maybe he woulda won if he didn't start out so slow. He could def stop Floyd, even a prime Floyd struggled with action fighters who brought pressure, like Jesus Chavez for example. Chavez's corner stopping that fight was pretty strange btw.

And lets not mention the first Castillo fight. Don't wanna stir up the ***** Volcano.

You're right about the Chavez fight, that was a great fight and Floyd certainly had problems at points, I think Floyd's class was beginning to show but Chavez's corner definitely could have held on to the towel. Floyd is my favorite fighter and I'll be the first one to tell you that his first fight with Castillo was either a draw or a Castillo win by 1-2 rounds. Every great fighter has gotten a decision here or there though (Pac could've lost the second Marquez fight by 2 rounds).

I mean do you TRULY think Margs would have beaten Floyd? I just don't see it, and I think the fact that every guy with solid boxing skills he's faced has beaten him. I mean wouldn't you say that Margs has proven he simply cannot deal with hand speed like Floyd's?

If Marg can't make 147 anymo, then the fight should be a jmw one. Winner gets to fight Alvarez or Cotto. Maybe there should be a tournament? But not like the Super 6, a shorter tournament like they had with the middleweights before.

Anyway, what do you think of this fight? Shame it didn't happen before. It seems little Floyd wasn't too keen on facing Tony Bricks?

styles make fights. margaritos face first style and lack of speed would allow floyd to hit him easily and move out of the way before tony could answer with anything.

thing with margarito is he wears most guys down, but floyds stamina is amongst the best in boxing. like pacquiao and williams he would be able to keep it up without fading and with his speed he wouldnt take any body abuse either.

Floyd doesn't have Pacquiao's speed. He has athleticism, but thats not enuff. As we saw Hatton gave him problems in the first half of that fight. An old Mosley stunned him, so did Corley. AT 140. If he can get stunned at 140, he can get stopped at 154.

And can anybody please explain WHY Floyd didn't fight Margarito if he knew it would be such an easy match??
