How can you not like Saul Alvarez

I ain't claiming him to be the second coming of Sugar Ray Robinson or anything like that. I think the guy is very talented, especially for his age. He is charismatic, exciting, and a sharp fighter. Also the fact that he holds a belt (even though it was under bs circumstances) doesn't hurt.

I see the reason why many of you will call him a hype job. But look at it this way. He is a nice guy and might attract more attention to the sport. Sure there are alot of guys who are better that deserve that kind of attention. But just because they aren't getting doesn't mean Canelo can't?

He does great ratings both in Mexico and in the US, he is like an Oscar De La Hoya. One day like his promoter (DLH), he might be able to lure the casual fan in to watch one of his fights or buy a PPV. Sure he did get built up by TV Azteca back in Mexico. At least he is making the most out of it by giving us his all everytime out, whether he is fighting a lower-class guy or a top contender. Unlike JCC Jr. whom to me it seems he doesn't care whether he is impressing or not as long as he gets paid.

He was able to attract 10k+ fans to his last fight. Which is greatly impressive considering who he was fighting and the fact that he is still young. He stole the show on the Mosley-Mora card and won over the crowd.

Never has anything negative to say about anyone. JMM might not agree but he was blasting him on national TV and Canelo simply defended himself.

His fighting style. He fights in an exciting manner. Even though he was unable to stop M. Hatton doesn't mean he didn't try. He is a very good finisher. Fights with someone against Cotto he might be the underdog, but I bet the house on him he would give a pretty darn good fight.

    Please only serious answers.

I liken Canleo haters to Kobe haters circa 1998. Have fun making excuses for the next decade.

He has been champion for a really long time and has done nothing of significance. Seems bored in middle of fights. Seems content with just winning. Not very charismatic. Doesn't sell a seat or a PPV. It's really easy to see why.

Not really. Berto gets paid maybe about twice as much for a fight as Canelo does and Canelo attracts twice the ratings.

I really can't hate on Berto. He has good people handling him and he is not going to turn down a big paycheck like $1.25m to fight Freddy Hernandez. If I was in his position I would take it to, anybody would. What I am implying is the manner in which they fight and seem to pour their heart out in the rin for the fans.

I agree, what I am getting at though is the attention he attracts to the sport.
