Not to mention Hatton mad his career one division south, rather than two, and didn't have a lengthy jail sentence for shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the belly. Real class act Paul.
Here's another fun fact... professional boxer Paul Spadafora once had to get a restraining order against the girl he shot in the belly, because of domestic violence... I guess he has at least one bad loss on his resume.
Or at the very least, a fight that he was losing, and had to get help from the referee to keep from getting beaten into submission.
All of that said, this fight is 100% acceptable to me if he fights Pacquiao the fight after. If it is just a tune-up against a southpaw fighter to get ready for Manny, cool. Any other fighter in the world as a follow up to a Spadafora fight is totally unacceptable, and all the bad things people have been saying about this fight will be totally justified.Comment

What do you mean nice try? Those fights were tune ups for Manny, I don't care how you dress them up. Just like the JMM fight for Floyd was a tune-up.Comment

That career featherweight put an assswhooping on your dog-eating boyfriend.Comment

Can I be honest?
The comical value of Mayweather whipping Billy Dib's ass would be so high that I really wouldn't bother to even count it as a fight... he just gets a free pass, like he stayed retired or not fighting, or whatever he calls it.
But man, seeing Mayweather beat Billy Dib's roo shagging ass back down to featherweight would be a joy to watch.
I really can't figure out why I, along with everyone else in boxing who knows who he is hates him so much... he just seems like a douche I guess!
Interesting fact that... did you know Billy Dib pitched and eight round shutout against the very same Rogers Mtagwa that lost a clear decision to Juan Manuel Lopez, but nearly knocked him out and tarnished the image of invincibility that Lopez got starting with the Ponce de Leon fight?
Damn that sentence is run on. Okay, done typing for this post.Comment

I'd like to know exactly how possible this fight is, I have a feeling it's just a bunch of crap, just like when Mayweather was supposed to fight Matthew Hatton and Saul Alvarez.
I'm no longer a fan of Floyd until he fights Pac or a solid welter/light middleweight.
And I find it hilarious that the thread starter has the nerve to talk about *****s and criticize people who blindly follow a fighter, meanwhile he would literally eat the crap out of Vitali and Wladimir's butt.
What a hypocrite.

I have to disagree VW2...
Clottey was coming off a close decision loss to Cotto where he lost his title (I thought Clottey won it, but the vast majority of people disagree with me, so I'm willing to accept that I am probably not correct in my scoring). He was proven to be a competent welterweight, beating Judah and hanging very tough with Cotto. I will say that it's hilarious that Clottey was begging for a fight that would put some money in his bank account FOREVER, and then landed Cotto and Pacquiao back to back. Funny the way things work.
Margarito was also a giant, and although unproven at 154 (actually proven to not be very good... loss to Santos and a win over Roberto Garcia who is an unknown and never-will-be), Pacquiao had never set foot in that division. That would have been a legitimate welterweight for Pacquiao to fight at 147, so I feel the same way about it being at 154. The only bogus part of that fight was that it was for a vacant title that neither had done anything to warrant a shot at. Such is the game the ******* sanctioning bodies play.Comment

DWiens what's up homie?!
Sure he was, but Clottey has NEVER delivered on the big stage. He's known for losing close fights and his best win to date is against a faded Zab Judah. Add to the fact that the Clottey fight shouldn't have even happened had Manny accepted the last ditch offer to save the Mayweather fight. He walked away from the biggest fight in the history of the sport and fought Clottey, that's wack to me, bro.Clottey was coming off a close decision loss to Cotto where he lost his title (I thought Clottey won it, but the vast majority of people disagree with me, so I'm willing to accept that I am probably not correct in my scoring). Yea, I'm not blown away by Manny beating Tony. They shouldn't have fought in the first place. I mean the guy hadn't done anything since 08 and landed a fight with Manny? I'll pass. Hopefully after Manny's tune up against Mosley, he'll fight someone worth while.Margarito was also a giant, and although unproven at 154 (actually proven to not be very good... loss to Santos and a win over Roberto Garcia who is an unknown and never-will-be), Pacquiao had never set foot in that division.
