Martinez gots bigger names in his resume but David is kinda right. His style and leathal hooks would KO Martinez. Yeah he's a new prospect but hey who wasnt? I see David Lemieux KO'ing Martinez late 4th. You all who dont crap just up Martinez ass. I actually like Sergio's style and power but I have studied Davids power and skill. David would win. He has Ko'd everyone exept 1. I know they nobodys but even with names his hooks are hard.

We have yet to see Martinez take a big shot from a proven puncher. I don't think Lemieux could beat him now but I think he would give him a run for his money...

Hey look guys, I just realized Lemiuex has his first hater. You know your getting good, and garnering attention when the haters appear.

Must be a big Martinez fan, because he's flooded this thread with negativity the whole time.

Ayala is a former title challenger and did pretty well against Abraham before getting KOed late. Lemieux turned him inside out in the first round. Abe is flawed, but a damn big puncher.

And Martinez is someone who has little inside game. Someone who can march his way in and keep the fight at clsoe range while hitting him with hard shots and going to the body is a very good way to beat him.

Like I said, Im not going to completely judge Lemieux until I see him against Rubio, but its not like Martinez is an unstoppable force.

The Abraham example doesn't exactly work as you might think, stylistic match ups, time and prolonged punishment can make a difference when fighters have faced similar opponents.
When thinking to make your assessment on wether Lemieux would stand a chance against Martinez, ask yourself these question:
1)Has Lemieux ever faced a legitimate test?
2)Were any of his previous wins (K.O's) against anyone from inside the top 30?
3)Apart from power what other physical or technical skills does Lemieux possess?
4)Has Lemieux ever been pushed to the point where he was forced to show the level of heart and punch resistance he possesses?
The example you gave of working the body is an obvious one that everyone should know, one that Martinez and his trainers would've no doubt been aware of. For now, Martinez is the man to beat from 154 to160, so yeah, he's pretty much unstoppable!
