No. Amir is gonna be fighting for the Super WBA belt after McCloskey when fighting Bradley. Most likely Maidana will fight for the vacated WBA belt against a 140 lber by that time.

WAY too many titles in boxing.

This is an example of that.

What I do with stuff like this is ignore it, and focus on the fight itself, not the ****** title some lame alphabet soup group decides to slap on the fight to make more sanctioning fees and fool idiots into thinking the fight is for a "world title"

      Maidana KO5 Morales

It's not Maidana's fault he is being given this opportunity, but he doesn't deserve a shot at the title after losing to Khan, especially not for fighting Morales.

Only the corrupt sanctioning bodies can be blamed.

and people wonder why people say boxing is dead.

So you think Maidana took this fight to become an interim titlist, as opposed to him taking a fight that would headline an HBO PPV?

This is what I wonder, say Maidana wins and then Amir Khan wins his fight in April. Will the WBA force Khan to have a rematch with Maidana and strip him of the title if he refuses to fight him again?

But other than that, he hasn't impressed me til this day. He doesn't apply smart pressure and doesn't mix his punches up well. On top of that he is a very dirty fighters, who likes to hit constantly behind the head, hit after the bell and refuse to obey referee's commands at time.

Besides his limited skills and dirty tactics, I also think he is two-faced. He is not the 'I'd fight anybody anywhere type' that he makes out to be. He refused to fight Amir in the UK and demanded to wear 8 Oz gloves while the Nevada state commission says that 140 fighters have to wear 10 Oz gloves. He filed a complaint on fight night and had Amir's Reebok gloves removed.

This is the same Maidana that said that Amir is afraid of him. Maidana said that Amir isn't that good and the fight wouldn't be hard. Amir goes on and beats him decisively (I had it 116-110). And guess what Maidana says a couple of weeks later..."Khan is afraid of me he will never fight me again". Maidana had his chance and he failed. Just like he failed against Kotelnik (I had Kotelnik winning). Maidana talks about rematches, yet won't give Ortiz a rematch who has been begging for a Maidana rematch ever since the Campbell fight.

Conclusion: Maidana is a dirty, butthurt, two-faced, limited contender.
What do these two things have to do with each other
