stop the hate? what are you talking about?Don't assume that those Pinoys you mentioned are considered the same caliber as Donaire....coz we Pinoys don't!
Those Pinoys you mentioned are not even champs....we consider them "up and coming" fighters and have the potential that's why they are being promoted by Pacman under MP promotions and brought to America, otherwise those Pinoys you mentioned will just be fighting here in the Philippines or in other parts of Asia(Japan/Thailand). But mind you! Those Pinoys you mentioned have won and beaten Americans, Mexicans and Ricans.
Stop that hate! your mind is being clouded by sniffing jocks straps!
out of that list, which is every Filipino that has fought on a Manny US since the Barrera rematch, which one is the up and coming fighter?
do you even know who these guys are is what I am now wondering.
and who cares if they have beaten Americans, Mexicans and Puerto Ricans here is a wake up call for you
what are Allen Litzau, Guadalupe De Leon, and John Figueroa?
an American a Mexican and a Puerto Rican yet if I tell you I have beaten all three no one on here in their right mind would call that an accomplishment
stop making the stereotype about Filipino boxing fans only knowing the big time Pinoy fighters a realityComment

how about let's start with a general assumption that they are relatively young which would eliminate the 33 year old Dennis Laurente and probably the 26 year old Michael Farenas.
next shouldn't you be on some kind of winning streak? If so that should eliminate Mepranum, Farenas (again), Concepcion, Gabi, Sonsona and Elorde.
essentially everyone
so again please tell me about these up and coming fighters. I am assuming you have extensive knowledge about them to label them up and coming when no one else does
I am waitingComment

or let me rephrase that.....What are your criteria of an "up and coming fighter"?....
If being young and having a winning streak are your criteria then there's no point in these discussion
I guess you are much better that Pacman in recognizing the promising potential of his fellow Pinoy boxers...Comment

I just gave you some criteria my man. If you cannot go from there and deduce what it takes to be labeled an up and comer well I think that speaks more to you than to meAgain!!! What is your interpretation of an "up and coming fighter".....

and why? when I say relatively young don't you think it's a little difficult for a guy like Laurente to be considered an up and comer considering he is at an age where most fighters are past their prime? Sergio Martinez is a rare exception and I have seen Laurente fight.....he is no Sergio Martinez.
and yes winning streak should play a part in this it's not like these guys are going against world beaters (with the exception of Abe Concepcion) and losing they are going against guys they SHOULD beat and yet still manage to find a way to lose. I say that would disqualify them from up and coming status
there is point to this discussion we are having a debate for which you have not brought one genuine opinion as to why you think any of those fighters are up and comers yet I have brought you several of my opinions as to why I disagree.
so again why do you think any of them are up and comers. Pick any of them and explain please.
and while Manny is the king of the world in boxing you really think this translates into finding talent? if so then guys like Frank Espinoza and Cameron Dunkin should never be in the business because they never fought. In the ring skills doesn't always translate into knowing what you are seeing when judging a prospect's merits.
I have been in this sport seriously since 2004 and suffice to say I have seen tons of prospects. Generally I have a good to great sense as to who is legit and who isn't. Talent wise only Abe Concepcion impressed me on that list and with his lackadaisical work ethic most knew he was wasted talentComment

How the hell can you possibly justify that statement ?
FACT: Donaire's career has been stonewalled since Darchinyan.
FACT: Filipino's DO fight on Pac's undercard
FACT: One of those Filipino's was not named Nonito Donaire
FACT: Donaire is not happy with the way TR has handled his career
FACT: He has received no exposure whatsoever via Manny's undercards, and there could be no better way to promote Nonito to the Filipino people.
Clearly Manny does not give a **** about Filipino's unless there is something in it for him.
Why the hell would you try to make out that you are a Filipino boxing fan, and then back Bob Arum and MP on this one?
Manny's ***wit nut-hugging fan-boys

Are you really trying to tell me that it would not have been beneficial for Nonito to be fighting on Manny's undercards?Again!!! What is your interpretation of an "up and coming fighter".....

Of course it would have helped his career, that is a no-brainer, you clown.
Manny doesn't give a **** about Filipino fighters, unless they are signed with MP, so that he can make money off them.
Bob Arum doesn't give a **** about ANYBODY, unless he can make money off them.
Stop being a Top Rank b1tch, and try being a genuine boxing fan.Comment

Good post. The point is, no matter how that kid paints it, neither Arum nor Manny have done Nonito any favors.I just gave you some criteria my man. If you cannot go from there and deduce what it takes to be labeled an up and comer well I think that speaks more to you than to me

the phillipino flash is actually a much better boxer than pac. i have been a HUGE fan of nonitos for a long time. pac IMO is a lot of hype, fed soup cans to make him look good. but nonito has been taking down the best without catch wts and such. he has been pushed back by top ranks hype for pac and thats just too bad because he is one helluva fighter with almost no deficitsComment
