    Give me casual fans anyday.

I can't stand the casual fan who gains some knowledge then decides he is something special, 'I don't support this fight' like it's an insult to their great knowledge.

Apart from Berto who else (a name) was their to fight at WW? given Mayweather fell through.

People have such expectations for ever single fight, If it's not unification or someone stepping up in weight, whats the point in watching right?

I like your shtick. Your signature is cool too.

The casual boxing fan on a boxing message board, I don't know as much about boxing but I love it.

You keep it up kid, give em hell, you got my approval

i just watched it and laughed at that, im pretty sure ive heard about celebs in the UK being done by the cops for not wearing a seatbelt whilst being videod/photographed.

Can they do him for that lol?

This fight will bring in some more casual fans who will be bored to death by a one sided beating of an old man. So yeah, lots of potential for this fight to hurt boxing.
Sorry but I don't buy this. Casual fans simply saw a lackluster fight in DLH/Mayweather. And while it's true that some casuals may not have come back (probably an insignificant percentage), boxing's true core viewer base remained unaffected, i.e. one lacking fight is not going to make a hardcore fan stop watching altogether. It didn't "hurt the sport."

This may not be a good thing to bring up since this board is largely anti-MMA, but I visited the Sherdog forums right after the Pac-Marg fight, and many of the hardcore MMA fans not only saw the fight, but commented that it was a "great fight" even though it was a one-sided beating. Does it mean much? No. But the casual viewership response was positive.

While this fight is very lacking to the hardcore boxing fan (I'm personally not very interested but will probably tune in anyway), it is good for boxing, if only for Pacquiao's style. Many casual fans feel like they get their money's worth with Pacquiao fights, no matter one-sided they may be. I'm sure he --along with the sport-- has picked up tons of casual fans in his last few fights, and will continue to do so with Mosley in the opposite corner.

people still watch the fight. and pay for it. how many guys from boxing scene say they would boycott the fight? maybe less than a hundred? it wouldnt hurt the PPV numbers. i believe it would do around 1 million buys. Fil Am will definitley watch it, and some hardcore boxing fans and specially casual fans.

Boxing exposure for the first time in a long time CBS is crap? I see no way it hurts the sport, it may not help but stop being an idiot, it does not hurt the sport. Just because you don't like the fight and are all pissy about it doesn't mean everyone feels the same way.
Exactly. Nothing but a bunch of PMSing b*tches. If you don't like it, don't watch it. It's really that simple. No one is forcing you to watch the Fight Camp or buy the PPV...

And how is Boxing being featured on CBS (and possibly an actual boxing show in the future) a bad thing? People make no sense.
