Juanma's been talking about moving up for a while now stating that 126 lbs is getting harder and harder to make. It still makes you wonder if it's laziness or not but I think 130 lbs will be a good weight for him. Also, when a fighter isn't drained, they seem to take a punch better (good example, Cotto at 140 lbs was rocked several times but seemed steadier at 147 lbs)...

As for the fight at 130 lbs, I think that is fine. Gamboa has hinted at moving up as well so it's still seems to be a level playing field. But the longer they wait, the more chance one of them loses. Juanma barely escaped the Mtagwa disaster and every fight can be dangerous (injury, cut, etc.)...

Why not, give him another chance.

And Juanma is talking like if he already beat Rafa and Orlando Salido who is no push over. Salido is way better than Jorge Solis.
Yes he was doing so great that he QUIT.

I have been a Juanma fan for years now and have been to 4 of his fights but it is what it is.

At least Lopez aint blatantly ducking Gamboa like he did with Caballero. But still, why is it that a natural Super Bantamweight can't even make a weight that he's been at for a year and a guy who has fought at 130 before can make the weight easily?

It's a legit question. This fight means more with the belts on the line and Juan Ma is being a ho.

I think it is two things. One, Lopez wants to catch only one bad beating instead of two because if he had to stay at 126 he'd eventually probably have to fight Donaire down the line as well. Lol. Second, he's not dedicated enough to make his natural fighting weight like the other great fighters are able to that train hard.

It's impossible for me to be a fan of this guy. Throw that Rican detractor crap around all you want. But the dude is a fraud who is milking his supporters. Junior Lightweight is like one of the weakest divisions in boxing right now.

The rumors about Juanma struggling to make 126 must be true then.

I was waiting for this fool to spout off his nonsense. But the deal is this! JMM, Katsidis and Guerrero fight at 135 lbs, not 130 lbs.

I gotta ask, do you even follow boxing or just nuthug PR fighters??

I don't really have a problem with that fight being at 130, I think it will slightly favor Juanma, and could even up the fight a little. But who wants to wait until mid-2012? *** that, lets get it on

                      What?!

Why don't you set up a poll asking people who they think is being "protected" in this whole deal?

Virtually everyone agrees that Lopez is the "golden child," and that Gamboa has little fan-base. Why would Arum "protect" Yuri? Assuming JuanMa can beat Gamboa, there's nothing to lose if Yuri has no fan-base.
