I had a feeling since the Gamboa fight that this was going to happen. Gamboa said that if Lopez dont want to fight him then hell have to move up to 130.

And in a way I think Juanma had been thinking about moving up , so he took the opportunity.

I dont care what anybody says , these 2 have room for improvement. Mainly on defense.

And Neither has taken any punishment , so why not wait until they are at their very best. I dont think they are there yet.

I think even with Gamboa having like 9 less fights they are almost at the same skill level and are a pretty evenly matched. And this fight is a toss up. Thats why everybody is so excited. Because its great matchup with fireworks written all over it.

It doesnt really bother me that the fight is at 130. What I do think is that Lopez thinks he might have a slightly better chance @ 130 and since Gamboa said he was going to move up Lopez took advantage of that.

I dont think it changes much come fight night.

I dont agree with the Juanma is a brawler.

Rocky Martinez is a brawler. Juanma can box.

I know he has taken punches. Hes a boxer. But he hasnt taken punishment like , lets say Cotto , or even Martinez which you can argue his might still be in his prime.

He has been rocked a few times. But I dont think he has accumulated any punishment.

Apparently the time is not now tho. I feel you. We want to see the fight. But its not going to happen until Bob wants it.

@ 126 I was giving Gamboa the edge. @ 130 Lopez has an even bigger chance.

do you think there will be a big difference from 126 to 130 as far as the result is concerned? A lot of people I know think that gamboa would not be as good at 130 since he is so small

I think so. It could slow Gamboa down a little. Hard to tell.

Each guy's punching power could decline just slightly.

                  Allowing for a longer fight.

Don't know who that favors though.

I see a Litzau tune up fight at 30, then ices takashi for his strap or meet the winner of that takahiro/gutierrez fight coming up.Let Martinez avenge that loss to burns .by 2012 I think they would be in their 30's so got to make it quick.
