he's backtracking because he knows like manny knows. he'll be 0-3 versus pac and likely ktfo. for his health i hope he sticks to fighting people in his price range and ability.

Paulie is 100% correct, remember before the Montiel fight? Everyone was saying Donaire was fighting bums... well folks its Arum's fault. Arum could care less about Donaire, he was very talented yet we hardly heard nothing off him, there's a reason why he left Arum. He took Donaire for granted and now all of a sudden he gets mad over him jumping ship. Donaire wanted the big fights, it wasn't his choice fighting small name fighters.... it's Top Rank's job to guide him to an effective career which they failed miserably. Also, lol @ Michael Koncz holding a grudge against Donaire for not signing to MP promotions.

I usually agree with what Pauli says, but I can't here.
Bob Arum and his top rank promotions are among the best in boxing.
They see the rankings, the PPV numbers and if they felt they were still developing a fan base for Donaire, then they were probably right. From how I saw things they were developing quite nice for Donaire. After the montiel fight they were going to set him up nicely to clean up the division, there was a possible move up in weight against Lopez or Gamboa.
All of those were potentially big $ fights.
What is GBP going to do for him now? After Mares who doesn't have a big fan base what else is there to offer him?
