Thank you! Mighty nice of you to say. If you were reading my posts more carefully, you would know that I linked the whole team to the Donaire thing. In business there are certain channels you have to go through to make decisions and most of the time. Everyone plays a part in making a decision for the best of the brand. Now if you want to believe that Pac had no say so in Donaire not getting on any of Pac's undercards, then that is fine because at the end of the day, I didn't hear Pac say it or read it coming directly from him. The only thing I am speaking is from a business perspective and before Donaire can be considered to be on anything pertaining to Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao has to approve it. To deny this fact clearly shows you do not know how business or the corporate structure works. In regards to Floyd Mayweather Jr. No one has heard a peep out of Floyd concerning boxing except what Zab Judah said and that was, Floyd would not be returning to boxing. Now we got Arum telling us that Floyd asked for $100,000,000 to fight Manny Pacquiao but since it has only been something confirmed by Arum.

I can believe the Manny thing because that was a straight executive decision and all people involved in the business have a say. Do you think Manny doesn't sign off on his own fights? And what also amuses me is that Pac fans talk about Floyd more than I do. Sometimes I post about something totally not about Mayweather and then I get a post reply like this "Yeah, but Floyd is blah, blah blah" and I'm like? Who is even talking about Floyd? Pac fans are obsessed with Floyd Mayweather Jr, so stop telling others that they are because if you guys never brought Floyd's name up, then I'm sure none of his fans would be on here defending him. Yeah..but those are administrative decisions. Koncz is in charge of MP Promotions, and Nonito is not promoted by THEM, it's simple. You put someone you don't promote on YOUR undercard and that's less money for you.

I think that's a simple business analysis !!

In my opinion, Donaire can lead any world class card in boxing....the guy has it all !! The problem here is his wife must learn to keep her mouth shut.....It's ok to make a comment, but all this false rivalry is because Rachel's big mouth. Keep it real !!

Arum is the promoter, the buck stops with him.

But, as pointed out in my post above, GRUS may be correct in that there is more to this than meets the eye. It would be in Bob's interest to have Nonito on Manny's undercard, at least for say the Hatton/Cotto/Clottey fights, Clottey in particular..... he certainly would not be having this issue with Nonito right now if he tossed him a bone now and then, and Donaire would have received much more exposure.

I'm sure if they offered to pay Donaire a lil less to get on a Manny Pacquiao undercard, then he would have jumped on it. I know that I would. Bob Arum and Top Rank make and break deals everyday. Are Pac fans seriously trying to tell me that Arum couldn't have brokered a deal for Donaire to get on the undercard if Pac was down for it? Arum & Koncz works for Manny. Case closed.

No way. That is cheap marketing. Short-term expenditure to maximise long-term profit is what boxing promotion is all about. A Filipino fighting on Manny's undercard is a total no-brainer.

3) nonito would never take undercard pay for a pac fight. nonito makes more money fighting on latin fury and pinoy power than he would make on a pac undercard.

Good point, but that's when a good promoter would explain issues like "international exposure" and "impact opportunity"..... and would sweeten the pot in order to maintain sustainability.

I agree on the highlighted and you do have a point from a business perspective. Maybe if Donaire really wanted to be on the undercard he would have signed with MP promotions but I think he didn't want to so technically can't put it fully on Arum and Pacquiao IF that is the case.

You hit it. MP Promotions is just rising. Top Rank and GBP are the elite of promotions, so that's the place where money is !!

Yeah. Now I am seeing it a lil differently since we touched the business aspect of it. If Donaire didn't want to sign with MP promotions because he wants to make his own way with the Pinoy people. That would mean he has to make his own name with the Pinoys. In business, you can't get down with companies and brands without signing some sort of contract/agreement, to solidify the business relationship. It protects both parties best interest. Donaire is with Top Rank not MP promotions, so in actuality. Manny doesn't have to put Donaire on anything until he makes some sort of commitment to their company. I'm in shock that we finally agree on something but can't deny what it is. I would never do or suggest anyone to do business with anyone without a contract/agreement.

If i was in Donaire's shoes iwould NOT do the same. I'd have to be a real fool to sign a contract with another promoter when I still had a valid, existing contract with and existing promoter, with ove 2 years to run.

I would get a lawyer, try to find, IN THE CONTRACT itself, some little flaw which might give me grounds to dispute that the existing contract was in fact valid, and be prepared to spend a fortune, and still be prepared to lose. As odds go, I WOULDN'T do it at all.

Another approach I might make is to appeal to Top Rank's "soft spot" and ask them to release me or allow me to pay them an indemnity in lieu of the remainder of the contract. AND, still be prepared to lose.

In fact, what I'd REALLY do, would to try informally to have my situation vis a vis my appearances on various promotions bettered, in discussions with top Rank officials, and just carry out my responsibilities embodied in my existing contract.

Everybody is angry at Donaire for jumping ship. Perhaps it was a bad move due to contract issues, but honestly......with the years he's spent with Top Rank fighting on the Pinoy Power & Latin Fury cards ALL on PPV with minumum buys, would you not be frustrated??? As a talented boxer, you WANT to showcase your talent. And it has nothing to do with him being a small fighter. When you have talent with crazy knockout power, fans will notice. He just needed exposure, and Top Rank didn't give him any. All of his fights should've at least been on Showtime or HBO's BAD cause we've all seen some ****ty fights on there where Donaire could've showcased his talent. And that's what Malignaggi as a boxer understood the frustration and move. That was his point in this topic

Look, nowadays when it comes to boxing you always need to see the business aspect of things. We're not in the golden era of boxing. This guys, Oscar and Arum...they're destroying the sport.

The selection of Mosley as Manny's opponent.. it wans't because Bob or Manny was afraid of Berto or maybe Marquez, the reason is that Sugar Shane Mosley has an established name in sport and for his age he represents higher gain at lower risk.

Don't misunderstand me, the difference between Mayweather/Mosley and Pacquiao/Mosley is simple, styles make fights. Mayweather technical style allows him to keep his distance from a strong puncher like Mosley.

Otherwise, Pacquiao doesn't have the "habit" of doing grips if he get caught with a hard bomb, and highlighting the fact that Manny's an aggressive performer, thus giving Mosley more opportunities of connecting that bomb.

But that stamina will not last long for Molsey, so saying it again, Higher Gain at Lower Risk. Business dude !!

1) pac owns MP, but he doesn't run it. koncz does

2) putting nonito on pac's undercard does nothing in terms revenue because pac already draws the entire market. I have yet to see anyone say... "I ain't gonna buy the Pac ppv... oh *****, nonitio is on it!? damn I gotta get it now." Never have I heard this.

3) Nonito is biitchin about the money now, no way he takes a pay cut.
