You could be right man, although, Cotto was handling him no problem early in that fight. I'm just not sure how much he has left, and whether he belongs at 154. But I think Steward could make a difference.

        WARRR Cotto !!

        REVENGE !!

Can't wait to see this fight.

Without the aid of plaster, Cotto will give MargaResto a boxing lesson in their rematch.

if margarito's punch resistance has declined just slightly he will get kayoed by cotto

a lot of people are going to lose money and points on this fight and if tony loses the plaster argument will have more backing and tony will be reduced to a journeyman
I think that could be a closer prediction.

Marg hasn't had any real pop in his last 3 fights. Shane was laughing at his punches toward the end of their fight, and walking through them..... Margarito had to resort to movement to keep Garcia off him..... and, that love-tap that Manny moans about was *** all

Margarito may have faded more than Cotto. Miguel will be hyped for that fight, he will have Steward in his corner, he will have confidence that Margo is not gonna "find" a little extra pop during the second half of the fight - if, that is what happened last time - and, if he is well-prepared and he sticks to his gameplan, I think he can beat Margarito, and beat him well.

Ballsy move by Margarito, coz if he loses that fight, his reputation is toast.

Cotto will win this rematch. He has so much more stamina and fuel in the tank at a buck 54.

                Margarito - Plaster ?

                Cotto + Steward ?

Cotto KO's Margarito, late rounds, Left Hook to the body.

I would love to see this rematch and as the 1st fight it will be a very interesting one but I do beleive that Cotto can pull it off and beat Margarito this time around.
To have success in a rematch you have to be able to make adjustments and those with better boxing skills are the ones that can actually adjust better .
Out of the 2 fighters, Cotto is more a complete fighter, with better boxing skills. Because of his amatuer background he will have more resources to go back to. With Manny in his corner we have seen a Cotto that is relying more on his jabs, while taking lest risk, moving in and out and staying away from the ropes. Cotto already demonstrated that he can outbox Margarito by giving him a clinic in the 1st 6 rounds of their fight, but by taking the punishment on the ropes while exchanging blows with a pressure fighter was obviously the wrong gameplan.
We all know that Margarito is fighter that have only one style and does not have the boxing skills to adjust. He is a tough pressure fighter with a great chin that will just come forward and attack and try to beat you with his work rate but has no defense. His success has been based on his continuos pressure although his hand speed and jab are nothing special. Which makes him vulnerable to fighters that can come in and out, keep him of balance with a good jab, followed by a few combinations and get out of his way when he starts the pressure and especially away from the ropes.
Cotto showed he can do that already but he needs to do it for the entire fight and that will be the question. Can Cotto do it for the entire fight instead of only 6 rounds??? I liked what I saw in the Mayorga fight, because his stamina seemed much better and his discipline to stick to the gameplan with a fighter similar to Margarito. Cotto was a fighter that never listen to his corner and did what ever he wanted on the ring, this time around he is trusting and putting his career in hands of Manny and that itself is a major improvement that will make a huge difference in a rematch.

The other thing to think about is the plaster issue. True that there is no proof that Margo used plaster on the Cotto fight, but there is no proof he did not use it either.
After all, even Margarito can't say or confirm he did not use it because, as his own words, He never knew what Capetillo was putting in his hands. If he didn't know what Capetillo was putting in his hands how can he be sure that for the Cotto fight there was no plaster???
If there was plaster in the 1st fight, it would obviously had an effect on Margos performance and Cotto's breakdown. An effect that this time around will not be there!!!!!

I'm a die hard Cotto fan. Always will be. The man steps up and fight everyone without any complaints. With that said it's easy to see why he lost the first fight. Plaster or no plaster it was Cotto's inability to clinch, block helacious uppercuts and no stamina. If Cotto goes in there and tries to **** it out then I see another loss for Cotto. If he can keep Margs at bay with the jab and go to the body more often then I can see a clear decision for Cotto, maybe even a late TKO.
