It's funny how things work out sometimes. Liakhovich just signed with Main Events in the hope of making a title run and getting another shot. Fast forward a month or so later and it looks as though he's getting a shot without even fighting once under the Main Events banner.

Anyway, I think Sergie is a decent choice for a stay-busy opponent for Vitali since as the TS stated, there aren't many other viable options for him...

He's not ranked by the WBC, because of his participation in the IBF eliminator.

        He's going after Wlad again.

Dumb move by Chambers. He will get knocked out again.

Lyackovich is a reasonable opponent for a stay-active fight. It could be worse, Vitali could have decided to fight Taras *****ko, put it on PPV, hyped the fight as a huge match-up which the Ukrainian public demanded to see, held-off for the first couple of rounds in order to make it seem competitive before finishing him off in the 3rd, then collecting a well deserved multi-million sum afterwards.

According to several reports in Russia, WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KOs) could possibly defend his title against former WBO champ Sergei Liakhovich (25-3, 16 KOs) on June 4 in Germany. Vitali is the main runner to fight Tomasz Adamek in September, but wants to take another fight inbetween. Two weeks ago he stopped Odlanier Solis in a single round after the Cuban was dropped and badly injured his right knee.

Very unfair comments from a Klitschko hater.

Lyakhovich is a former world titleholder, and he was in the best HW fight of 2010, this one:

Sadly, Don King kept him inactive for several periods of 18 months.

There won't be a lot to choose from for Vitali's fight on June 4, I think Lyakhovich is as good a choice as any.

So, first, Vitali beat Shannon Briggs and now he is going to fight the guy who got KO'd by Shannon Briggs and then lost to Valuev. They won't fight Holyfield out of so-called respect but they will fight a guy who got smashed by Briggs who only averages 10 punches landed per round. This fight will not last long...
