That being said, I would actually love to see Maidana move up to 147 and rematch Ortiz there. Marcos has had problems getting down in weight for a while now I believe, and I think the move up would go along way in improving his stamina IMO. Either that or he needs to work on his conditioning better and not have to drain himself so much right before a fight to make weight. Which ever way, I definately believe that not only would the networks buy the rematch in a second but the fans would go for it in a heartbeat. The interest would definately be there for a rematch, especially if Ortiz gets past Andre Berto and Maidana looks impressive against Morales (a sadly faded but true gritty warrior). Besides, there's real intrigue to see if Ortiz would quit again against Maidana (who some say took away his heart) when the going got rough.

Side note: It does seem silly for Ortiz to say Maidana is having nightmares about him, doesn't it? As someone else here pointed out, Ortiz was the one who opted not to continue because he was beat up - the only one who stopped that fight was himself. Hard to believe that Maidana would have bad dreams over that LOL!
I believe that if Ortiz beats berto (and its a big if) then Maidana will move up in weight for a title shot. Khan and Bradley are fighting each other and Judah wants to defend against JMM so it would make sense for him to move up and fight for a title against an opponent he knows he can beat.

To Maidana's defense he has been busy with decent fighters to even give the rematch a go. Before the Maidana fight, Ortiz was just rushing through and over powering fighters, not worrying about what could come back, and that's when he hit the brick wall thats Maidana that stopped him in his tracks.
Anyways there's good fights coming, Berto vs ortiz. Good fight, there's alot of what if's that could happen on this fight.
And we also have Morales vs Maidana. Man i love to watch Morales fight, true legend. And what can you say about Maidana, always get your money's worth with "el chino". He also hooked up with Mexican trainer Rudy Perez who also trained another legend, MAB. I'm curious as to what Perez has been working on with Maidana and if we'll see it come fightnight.

          Absolutely, good point.

it's common knowledge that ortiz' soul is kept in a coffin burried in the soil on maidana's farm in Argentina
