Junior welterweight Marcos Maidana quickly returned fire after reading a recent statement that was made by Victor Ortiz. In the June of 2009, Maidana stopped Ortiz in a six round war. Maidana is getting ready for a fight with Erik Morales on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Ortiz is moving up to welterweight to challenge WBC champion Andre Berto.

Really tired of seeing these threads where someone "shreds" or "rips" someone else verbally. Boxing's become more about talking ***** and less about backing it up. Not speaking directly about Maidana of course, but in general. Too much talking, not enough fighting.

Articles like this one is when you can separate the fans of the sport... and the nuthuggers!

For those that actually argue that Maidana was lucky and is afraid of Ortiz...... also need therapy! Ortiz is yet to show he learned his lesson in that fight.

I believe that Ortiz has the best pedigree, corner and overall boxing skills... but in Maidana he met a superion figther. There is a difference between a figther and a boxer.

A rematch would be good.. and it can go either way, but I have to favor "Balls of Steel" Maidana versus Ortiz.

Denial is a dangerous road to travel......... for both fans and athletes!
