    Very Sad. He was always in the background on the HBO Telecasts.

        RIP gil...always remember how shocked he was when foreman knocked out moorer(just watched it last week)...also remember the lowblow bit mentioned by an earlier poster...i remember him also talking about how after foreman lost his last fight before his original retirement.george just walked in the room & told me he found god & didnt want to fight anymore & that was it...

          Gil Clancy and Tim Ryan were my favorite announcing team growing up I loved watching fights on cbs. RIP Gil

                Que en Paz descanse el legendario Gil Clancy.. I remember when he used to do commentary on MSG network fights & how he always used to compare fighters in the 80's & early 90's to fighters from way back in 40's, 50's & 60's...
